I've had my Justissimo for about 18 months now from new. Before hand I had the previous model from Caberg the J+1 which is a very good lid costing, at the time, £99.
My preference was for a flip front lid as I wear glasses and found it a pain putting them on and taking them off with full face helmets. After having the J+1 I had no quarms at all shelling out just shy of £150 for the Justissimo. But what I got for my money was quite alot more than I expected.
On first inspection the obvious selling points are the pilot style slide down internal visor which can be operated when riding by using the black slide shown in the picture above just behind the visor. Bikers everywhere will know that the decision between keeping your eyesight with tinted visors in strong sunlight and keeping the police happy are often in great conflict. This helmet gives you the best of both worlds. Visibilty is improved in inclement weather too as with the helmet you get an anti fog insert which fits easily inside the visor to prevent misting. Personally speaking though this must be seen as a freebee as it's not very good quality and I quickly changed mine for a Fog City (better design). This helmet is considerably quieter than the previous model too. I'm no sound engineer but since buying the Justissimo my ears don't ring after ride outs. Another excellent point is the slide back air vent on the top of the helmet. It's a great design and a considerable improvement over the J+1 (which incidentally I didn't find until a couple of days before I got rid of it. Thought they were styling). Colours available: White, Metallic Black, Metallic Blue and silver. I recommend the white as the colours are less than exciting and the white can be airbrushed more easily. The helmet also comes with it's own helmet bag.
There is a few cons though; 1. The external lining on the bottom of the helmet is easily damaged (and I look after my lids). 2. The stickers are sealed into the paintwork so they are a pain to remove if you want to airbrush it. 3. The flip front doesn't open very far so if you are considering riding with it open, forget it, it's likely to pull your head off once you get over 50mph.
In conclusion. If all you've got in the kitty for a helmet is £150. BUY THIS HELMET. It's no wonder all the bike mags give it rave reviews. No other manufacturer comes close for the price.
Advantages: Flip front convenience with great sun visor. Disadvantages: Can somethimes let a dribble of rain run down the inside of the visor
Having owned the Caberg J1 Plus for a few years, I went for the Justissimo to add the advantage of the integrated drop down visor.
Said visor may look a bit Tom Cruise in Top Gun or Luke Skywalker attacking the Death Star, but it works fantastically well. At the time I bought it I was making regular rides over The Second Severn Crossing into Wales - riding smack into a setting sun with no shade to be found. A situation to give the shaded visor a ... ...those of us who are speckies, flip front makes donning any lid a lot easier, and you look less like a robber when you talk to regular folk with the front flipped up.
I can't comment on the claims about it being quieter than the J1 as the faring on my bike causes a chunk of noise that a more regular bike would not have to contend with.
After a couple of years use, it's still in good nick, apart from two small padded stickers on the sides that fell ...
