A Great Media Centre PC Case
Review of Antec VERIS Fusion Black 430 - UK by
jkjon
Advantages: Great looks, well built, quiet, good display unit, built in IR Receiver
Disadvantages: Limited display options
Having only used budget cases to build your typical bog standard PC's before I was initially a little nervous at spending over £100 on a case. However I needn't have worried as this is well worth the money.
The case is quite heavy and feels very sturdy, it does look a little on the chunky side but this size allows you to use a full size drive and expansion cards, if you choose a slimline case you will be more limited with the components you can ... ...smart with a bright blue display and (very bright) blue ring around the power button.
The display can be customised to a limited extent through the included software to show a range of information including various system information, time and date, email status, local weather and news and media information (if using Media Centre or Win Amp). The rather large but tactile knob only controls volume and works fine with my system. The front panel also ...

Antec Fusion HTPC/ Media centre case
Review of Antec VERIS Fusion 430 -UK by
Dancake2008
Advantages: Stylish, Can fit full size GPUs, Easy to set up
Disadvantages: Standard Tri-cool fans are too noisy, VFD display functionality is a bit limited
I have been running the Fusion now for six months with now problems. I am running an Intel e6600, geforce 8600GT and an Audigy soundcard in this case- all fit perfectly and dont warm the case up too much, even with the 3 speed fans set to the lowest setting.
The VFD display on the front of the unit works well and it is a variation of Soundgraph's IMON device. The only disappoining part of this is however that the Fraphic equaliser does not seem ... ...Vista Media centre, this is not much use.
My main problem with the unit is the noise from the "Tri-Cool" fans; even on the lowest setting they are too loud for a media centre: With the volume down on the TV (ie now at 12.15 with my wife in bed) I can clearly hear them droning away- quite annoying.
Fans aside (you can buy much better ones for less than £20) this is a great looking case and it comes reccomended. (NB it can also be used with an MCE ...

My First Overture
Review of Antec LifeStyle Overture II-UK by
LegendaryMrDude
Advantages: Looks, Cooling, Build Quality, Design
Disadvantages: Price, Size, Noise
This is the third Antec PC case I've bought, and the second from their classy-looking "Lifestyle" range. So they must be doing something right!
"Why," I hear you ask, "have you bought 3 PC cases?" Well, truth be told, I'm something of a geek. I have a multitude of PCs in my house. Most of them are the result of compulsive upgrading, where a system upgrade leaves me with enough "bits" left over to build another Frankenstein PC. The problem with this ... ...it comes with the usual Antec array of rubber grommets for mounting fans and Hard drives and while they do dampen the noise of those components, it also comes with a varied assortment of fans and blowers to shed heat from the case. Combined with large areas of highly ventilated case (there's lots of vents, holes and grilles all over it), this actually results in a moderately noisy enclosure. Thirdly, it's got to have enough space to fit in all the ...

Great case with some minor annoyances
Review of Antec LifeStyle Overture-UK by
IntrepidBear
Advantages: Looks Good
Disadvantages: Minor Heat Issues
...prevent cutting your hands. And Antec has included rubber mounting grommits for the hard drives. My biggest complaint about the look is the lack of covers for the face of the CD/DVD-ROM drive. Without these you have a beige or black drive that looks out of place. Several attempts at color matching the drive with a can of spray paint have proved to be very challenging.
POWER: Inside, Antec has included a 380W powersupply of their own design. Other ... ...case has, heat.
COOLING: Antec included one 92mm fan in the rear of the case for exhaust. In my experience this is insufficient. Only after adding a slot fan did the heat of the CPU and the case itself reach what, in my opinion, are reasonable levels. NOISE: The reasoning behind their decision to use such a fan setup was to reduce noise which the Overture excels at. In its stock setup, the Overture is virtually silent. (If you add a slot fan to ...

Excellent yet unassuming...
Review of Cooler Master Centurion 5 CAC-T05 by
dc6118
Advantages: Great design, tool-less parts work, does everything it should
Disadvantages: Front vents clog with dust
I built my computer over a year ago, and decided to push the boat out a and spend a bit extra on a case. After reading some good reviews I chose to go with the Coolermaster Centurion 5 in blue, and am glad I did! I never really imagined the choice of case could make too much difference but this really is excellent. The design is simple and unassuming, yet somehow very classy, the brushed blue aluminium and blue LED's work well. Functionally it works ... ...fiddling with screws on expansion brackets (although the screw holes are there should you wish, but it is very secure) and the drive bay holding clips simply work, I transport the case a lot and have had no slippages. The case includes a rear 120mm fan, which is very quiet but very effective. My only problem is the front vents (surrounding the power buttons and in the empty drive bay holders) which contain a foam for stopping dust entering the system. ...
