The Caboodles brand is a range of make-up from Canada which was launched in Superdrug stores a couple of years back. It’s designed for teens but who cares! It is a very girlie range in pretty packaging selling items such as glitter eyeshadows, mascaras, body glitter and most importantly – LOADS of lipgloss. This is what this review is concentrating on, in particular the “Lip Dee-Lish” lip tint.
I expect most of the cool chicks amongst us here will have seen the Ruby and Millielipglosses which is in a clear ‘pen’ style packaging. It has a brush on one end and a base which you twist which releases the lipgloss directly into the middle of the brush. This is such an ingenious invention. The number of times I have had lipglosses leak in my bag and get bits of fluff, old crisps, etc stuck around the lid…. Well those days are over!
Caboodles also uses this great invention for the lip dee-lish lip tints. However, they are A LOT cheaper! :0)
**COLOURS AND FLAVOURS**As the name “dee-lish” suggests, the lipglosses are pretty tasty. This has its disadvantages though as you may be tempted to lick it all off so it won’t last very long. The ones in the range I have are:
Yummee (bubblegum flavour) – a sheer fuschia pink
Tastee (raspberry flavour) – bright red
Deelux (strawberry flavour) – very light pinky beige
Others I know that are available is a brown colour (chocolate flavour) and a vanilla one (colour escapes me!).These lipglosses taste and smell fantastic but that’s not all, they look pretty darned fine on the lips too. They give a nice subtle shine which is supposed to be in this season rather than the in-your-face mirror type shine you might find on Kat Slater’s lips. The colour can be determined by you. If you want a sheer look, you just use less, it’s as simple as that.
I found “Tastee” a bit too red to begin with as I’d twisted quite a lot of product out onto the brush, but the next time I used it, I used less and I was much more pleased with the result. My ultimate favourite is “Yummee” with a subtle pink shine, it’s gorgeous.
**DURATION OF WEAR**
I find the lipglosses do not last too well however. Maybe I am subconsciously licking it off, I don’t know. It certainly will not last through a drink or meal but then I haven’t found a lip gloss (except Lipfinity) which actually does.
Another little niggle is because I use it so much the tube itself doesn’t last long. I bought my first one four days ago and I am already a quarter of the way through!
**GRAB THEM WHILE YOU STILL CAN!**
You may have been misled by the title of this review that I was going to start talking about that orange faced one from Bargain Hunt, fear not. The reason I say it is because Caboodles is discontinued in all Superdrug stores now and as far as I know, it’s not available anywhere else in the UK. The good news is it is at a great clearance price of £1.99 for every single item!!! Eyeshadows, body glitter and these gorgeous lip tints are at this bargain price of one pound and ninety-nine pence!
Because I loved the first one I bought so much, I cleared out the stocks of both the Superdrug’s in Bath so sorry anyone who lives here that wants it, I’ve grabbed them all! I am so addicted to the stuff I am seriously thinking about going further afield and getting some more…ok I’m gonna stop now before I make myself look really sad!
**FURTHER INFO**
If you want more information on Caboodles products you can check out their website on www.caboodles.com.
I tried to find out about animal testing but was unsuccessful so if anyone knows, I’d love to hear. Hopefully it will be to hear that Caboodles isn’t tested on animals.
Well if you are still here and haven’t got down to your nearest Superdrug yet, thanks for reading!
