For people who like darker chocolate, you will definately love Bournville. The only thing to bear in mind is that, like with all dark chocolate, there is a little bit of a bitter aftertaste. But... more

Advantages Advantages Mild dark chocolate taste

Disadvantages Disadvantages Like all chocolate - sugar

A review on Cadbury Bournville Now, dark chocolate is not a choice I often make but today I felt like a change. So, despite the rain, I set off to buy a Cadbury Bournville - my favourite variety. The small One Stop Shop near where I work didn't have any so I had to make my way to a small shop a bit further away. I didn't mind too much because that used up a few more calories. However, I suspect that the price was a bit higher than the supermarket would have been. So, what is it about Cadbury Bournville that is appealing for a change. A Few Facts * This products contains traces of nut, wheat & ... more

This bar of chocolate has been a long time favourite of mine, but sadly I haven’t given it a thought for a long time, so when my husband bought me some home the week-end, I knew I was in for a treat. ~~~~~~~ WHAT IS IT? ~~~~~~~ It’s Bournville chocolate of course, made by Cadbury. Still not sure? Well let me tell you a little more, it's a chocolate bar that consists of 32 chunks. I know this because its right in front of me and anyone who has read my other opinions will know my favourite chocolate is plain chocolate. Each of the chocolate chunks has the word Cadbury written across it ... more

Advantages Advantages Rich, dark, velvety, slightly bitter tasting chocolate. Totally delicious.

Disadvantages Disadvantages It can be an acquired taste, and not to everyone's liking.

~ ~ When I was a wee fella growing up in Scotland in the 50’s and 60’s there wasn’t nearly as much choice of choccy bars and sweeties as there is today. I can remember that my favourite chocolate bars back then were Mars Bars, Picnic, and Fry’s Chocolate Cream. (and orange) My old dad’s favourite was Cadbury’s Bournville, a plain, dark chocolate, that I was convinced he used to eat because he knew my mum and I didn’t like it, and he would get the whole bar to himself! I tried it, of course, but it used to remind me of Senopod. (or was it Senokot?) ... more

    Advantages Advantages Taste lasts longer

Disadvantages Disadvantages Is more bitter than milk choccy

Well it just wouldn’t be fair to write so many ops about chocolate and not mention plain chocolate as I have written about and will continue to write about milk chocolate and besides it looks as though this op will keep Newfloridian happy as he keeps mentioning that he prefers plain chocolate instead of milk chocolate in his comments to my ops … not that he was hinting of course !! Also I may be able to convert a few more dieters with this op !! =[ Insert evil laughter !! ]= Luckily enough I actually had this bar in my Selection Box amongst all the other bars and while not a huge fan of plain ... more
