Well if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em. So with a "glass and a half that makes Cadbury's the chocolate and a half", here comes my Cadbury’s chocolate opinion!

Many people here at Ciao have commented that they really like Cadbury’s chocolate. I (up until six years ago) use to eat chocolate by the truckload until I developed a hypersensitivity to the product. I suppose my earliest memory of chocolate was that of my father bring home a bar of ‘Cadbury’s Dairy Milk’ or a bag of ‘Cadbury's Buttons’ for both my brother and I. Oh happy days! I really loved the nursery rhymes on the back of the bag. Well I was learning to read at the time.

**History**

The Cadbury family first produced a popular chocolate drink but they wanted to bring it to the population at large. So following this early triumph, they then struggles to develop a bar that has made Cadbury’s the popular chocolate business. First introduced to the buying public in 1905, Cadbury's unique chocolate heritage was built on its creamy moulded milk chocolate bars, known as ‘Cadbury’s Dairy Milk bars’. Over the years Cadbury’s have added fruit, nuts, mint, orange essence and many other ingredients to make livelier and rejuvenate their chocolate bar contribution. They offered to the world at large ‘Cadbury's Fruit & Nut’ and ‘Cadbury's Whole Nut’, which are two of the best-loved variants of the original ‘Cadbury's Dairy Milk’. This was just the start of moulded chocolate products for the company now currently known as Cadbury’s Schweppes.

**Packaging**

Over the years the bars of ‘Cadbury’s Dairy Milk’ have changed very little. The logo has become more stylised but the purple wrappers and foil, once adopted has become a Cadbury’s trademark. The small bars of chocolate are divided into six chunky squares, with the name Cadbury printed on them. The larger bars follow the same design but are bigger with bigger chunks.

**Taste**

The chocolate is quite rich creamy and sweet. It has a distinctive flavour that only Cadbury’s can achieve. It is not as concentrated as the dark chocolate, Bournville. It seems to suit the palettes of both young and old alike.

**Cost**

The price varies from shop to shop. Generally a small bar costs around 30p (Tesco January 2002) Special offers on ‘Cadbury’s Dairy Milk bars’ mean that you can often get four small bars for a pound.

Cadburys Dairy Milk 125g cost £0.74(£0.592/100g)
Cadburys Dairy Milk 200g cost £0.92(£0.46/100g)
Cadburys Dairy Milk 400g cost £1.69(£0.423/100g)
Cadburys Dairy Milk 4 Pack cost £0.99(£0.248/each)
Cadburys Dairy Milk Snack size 8 Pack cost £1.59(£0.199/each)

Well, from talking to my friends and family I have not found anyone who does not like ‘Cadbury’s Dairy Milk Chocolate Bars’. There is never any waste so that to me says that it is excellent value for money!
