The Bar
=======
The overall shape of the Fudge Bar has never changed over the years. The bar is long and slender and no more than approximately 5 inches long and about 1cm wide. If you could imagine the letter D with the straight side as the base then you have ... ...coated in lashings of tasty Cadbury milk chocolate.
The bar is wrapped up in an orange shiny wrapper. If my memory serves me correctly the colour of the wrapper has not changed over the years. It may have been jazzed up a little from plastic to those fresh metallic like wrappers but the original colours are still there making it easy to spot in the shops.

I have to admit that I do have a very sweet tooth and love nothing more than a nibble on some chocolate, which tends to be every other day!
When I am trying to be good but simply can’t, one chocolate bar I always reach for is Cadbury’s Fudge Bar.
Now these bars have been around for as long as I have I reckon – or at least as long as I remember! I distinctly remember the theme song from the adverts that were on TV when I was a kid. If you want why not sing along with me! After 3 – 1 ,2, 3 “A finger of fudge is just enough to give your kids a treat - Its full of Cadbury goodness for very smaller needs……..” OK enough of that. Let me tell you why this is so good even for bigger needs like mine!
The Bar =======
The overall shape of the Fudge Bar has never changed over the years. The bar is long and slender and no more than approximately 5 inches long and about 1cm wide. If you could imagine the letter D with the straight side as the base then you have the shape of your fudge bar.
The long thin piece of fudge is coated in lashings of tasty Cadbury milk chocolate.
The bar is wrapped up in an orange shiny wrapper. If my memory serves me correctly the colour of the wrapper has not changed over the years. It may have been jazzed up a little from plastic to those fresh metallic like wrappers but the original colours are still there making it easy to spot in the shops.
Eating & Tasting the Fudge =======================
This is my favourite bit. Upon ripping the wrapper open which was a fairly easy task, you are met with a lovely sweet aroma! This is due to the sweetness of the fudge and the rippled chocolate coating that encases it! The smell alone just sets your taste buds tingling!
My first bite is always the best. I bite just a piece off the end and munch on this allowing the sweet soft fudge to mix with the chocolate in my mouth. All this sweetness is sending good mood signals to the brain! This bar is so moreish and before long I have my second bite. This time I take just a small piece and like to suck all the chocolate off leaving just a piece of light coloured fudge in my mouth. I like to savour on this and catch every last taste from this sweet tasting fudge. You can definitely taste the condensed milk, which is one of the ingredients. There is definitely a hint of vanilla amidst the fudge too. Two or three pieces more and the bar is finished and I am completely satisfied. With such a sweet and risch tasting bar I couldn’t possibly eat two at a time which is just as well!
Fact and Figures ===============
A Fudge bar weighs in at just under 25g per bar and provides 110 calories although 3.7g of fat.
The bar MAY contain traces of Nut, Egg and Soya so any allergy sufferers beware.
You can pick up a single fudge bar for 15p in most newsagents or shops. I tend to buy the 6 pack which costs 81p from Tesco. Being so sweet I find that the 6 pack actually lasts a while. One bar at a time certainly keeps my cravings at bay!
So why choose Fudge? ====================
Well there are a couple of reasons why I opt for Fudge. The first one is probably due to the lower calorie count compared to other chocolate bars which is always a plus! The second is the sweet rich taste of the fudge which is so intense and has the added bonus of being coated in lovely Cadbury Chocolate! And last – the price! At 15p each or less if you buy the multipack you can’t go wrong. What more could a girl want!
I will never understand why Cadbury aimed these towards the kids market. OK perhaps it was the size of the bars but if you are an adult and have missed out on these go buy one today!!!
Other uses ==========
Have you tried dunking one of these in a cuppa! Watch all the chocolate slip into your drink and see the naked fudge. I have also put one in the freezer for a couple of hours and then grated it for topping on a trifle! Goes down a treat! You could even put the grated shavings on your hot chocolate.
Ciao Stars =========
I feel that 4 Ciao stars are in order for this product. Loses one star as it may be too sweet for some folks but that’s just personal taste I guess.
...to eat, it`s full of Cadbury goodness and very small and neat, a finger of fudge is just enough until it`s time to eat!
I know I am showing my age with that little rhyme but it was the one advert that over the years I can honestly say every time I heard the song it made me want one. The product of course being a Cadbury`s fudge. Even those of you lucky enough to be too young to remember that ad will I am sure have tried a finger of fudge at some ... ...fudge bar covered in delicious Cadbury chocolate. The Cadbury chocolate needs no introduction I am sure, it is the same delicious milk chocolate that covers any Cadbury product. You know the kind, it is super smooth, super milky and ultra delicious. So can the fudge live up to the chocolate?? YES indeed it can, I am very fussy when it comes to fudge normally preferring clotted cream or whisky flavour to any other. With this product what you get is ...

Advantages: delicious, remind me to a sweet my great grandmother made Disadvantages: 110 kcal per bar
...picked up a pack of Cadbury Fudge in Sainsbury’s. It had attractive purple and orange wrapper and caught my eye so I couldn’t leave it there. I have to take my sons with me when I go out to do the shopping and my elder son always asks for some chips or chocolate. As I am very sweet-toothed I often buy some chocolates. Cadbury Fudge pack contains 6 bars each packed individually. The bar is about 10-12 cm long and 1 cm wide. Actually it is a rod shape ... ...days ago. I read that Cadbury makes them for ages now and I hope they will continue for ages as well. I love these fudge bars. They are not sticky at all, have a very nice texture. The fudge is not hard at all and is not runny either. It is creamy and sweet. The chocolate coat on it is the usual fabulous Cadbury milk chocolate. I like the idea that Cadbury has a very good product and they make it without any change for ages. I know the marketing ...

Advantages: Small and tasty, wonderful on the go Disadvantages: Far too small :), gone up 5p from what i remember
These are fantastic, I have been known to sit in my room with my secret stash of these and just gobble gobble gobble. I have just finished one, and it inspired me to write an opinion. I was truly shocked when I realized that only two other people had written them, it is truly a blasphemy to not take note of these lovely chocolate bars.
These are not big, but not that small, so its quite nice to mix n' match with say... a milky way. Two can get a ... ...note of these days, it's always looked the same and it is nothing special, surely they do not really need to attract more people, everyone must know what a fudge bar is :). The colours are still quite bright and attractive though with the low price advertised on the side.
The taste is lovely, the chocolate is cadbury's, not in my opinion as nice as Galaxy, but its only a small layer of it, so I do not really take note of it. In the texture lies ...

Advantages: Small but enough Disadvantages: Inaccurate slogan for today's era
A finger of fudge is just enough to give your kids a treat !!
That was the slogan for these things. I remember this way back to the eighties and chances are the adverts for these still carry this jingle even if it’s not written on the wrapper.
This as we all know is completely false unless of course your kids have not learned how to talk yet and therefore cannot say Play Station, Mobile Phone, TV, DVD or anything else that kids these days take ... ...what kids had to day when I was young and someone said they were going to treat me and presented me with a Fudge bar chances are I would have held out my hand and said …
“ Uh huh buddy … I want a fiver !! “
But lets not forget that this little beauty ( emphasis on the little ) is actually an incredibly nice thing and as a kid I loved em ( in a purely platonic sense ) loads.
I recall that even now fudge is not exactly the cheapest candy on the ...

Advantages: The puns are a plenty and they cost lest than Twenty Disadvantages: Some people do think size matters
...the Fudge name and the Cadbury logo. In fact of the 4 types of bar I got their all Cadbury apart form the Dime/Daim (Krafft Food do them), to those over the age of about 12, you will know the typical design, even if it has changed slightly over the years.
The bar it's self is quite short, about 4 inches (some say thats the perfect size...don't we guys...), and it's slim, which I don't even think has anyone to defend it. The bar is simple a semi ... ...of chocolate thats been draped thinly over a block of Fudge (hence the name). Cream fudge, that would remind a country bumpkin like my self of the fairs my dad used to show goats at, probably explains my my lust at an early age of cream fudge (now moved onto Cinder toffee). So whilst as a kid, these small bars were to die for, now a days I'm unsure.
The chocolate, as is always the case with Cadbury's is sweet, and delicious, not too sweet, or sharp ...

Advantages: The delicious taste and texture. Disadvantages: Not sure there is any!
For the first time in a long time I find myself writing a review on something that is not related to photography (well unless you count munching bags of it as I edit photos that is).
I am generally not a big fan of fudge apart from the Cadburyfudgefingers or the delicious creamy clotted cream fudge from the Tower fudge shop in Blackpool but when I was recently given a bag of this Strawberry and Cream fudge made by the chocolate and toffee masters that are Thornton's I gave it a try and to cut a long story short, I loved it.
There have been lots of fudge`s in the past based around some sort of cream flavour but this is the first time I can recall one having the strawberry and cream taste, so although I cannot compare it to other strawberry and cream fudges, (if indeed there are any), I can say that it is an excellent fudge in its ...
Advantages: Easily available Disadvantages: Some chocolates aren't so nice
, this type of sweet has a horrible gritty feel but this one doesn't.
Amber Toffee
A diamond shaped chewy, slightly buttery toffee, covered in plain chocolate. It feels a bit crunchy after it has been in the fridge for a while. Watch those teeth!
Vanilla Fudge Parfait
A round chocolate filled with creamy vanilla fudge - it?s nice, soft and buttery. It has a slightly sugary, gritty feel to it and the vanilla isn't very strong. A finger of Cadbury's fudge tastes nicer than this!
Roasted Nut Crunch
A solid round chocolate with a whole hazelnut inside. Much drier than the hazelnut/caramel one. It does taste roasted but not savoury, thank goodness. One of the nicest chocs in this box.
Chocolate Treasure
A sickly double chocolate truffle, which looks nicer than it tastes. It should have some sort of fruit in it ...
Advantages: Creamy, Chocolatey Yoghurt, Deicious Fudge pieces Disadvantages: Can be too sickly for some people
***CADBURYS***
Of course everyone has heard of Cadburys and I?m 100% sure that everyone has had a chocolate bar or another treat made by Cadburys and I?m sure most of you will agree that their chocolate is lovely and creamy and very yummy. Cadburys are famous for using the deep purple colour all of their packaging. They do a huge range of products including Sweets, Cake Bars, Yogurts and more. Cadburys have created many different chocolate bars with many different centres including Turkish delight, Caramel, Double Chocolate, Fruit & Nut and many more.
Cadburys obviously got this idea, from their popular finger of fudge which sells for about 15p, but you can also buy these in packs of 6 from Supermarkets such as Sainsburys, Tesco and other good Supermarkets. I love their fudge of finger, it?s lovely and creamy and very more-ish. They ...
