Back in the 60's and before decimalisation the Flake was known as the 6d bar. '6d worth of heaven'. How times change. Their advertising and their famous and awarded 'jingle' went a long way in promoting the Cadbury Flake back in their early days.-
---CADBURY FLAKE---
The slim, layered flake is wrapped in a yellow, twist end, sealed wrapper. Displayed along the front in purple, metallic writing is the word 'Flake', with the famous slogan 'The crumbliest, flakiest milk chocolate' placed above. The thin wrapping is foil backed to ensure complete freshness upon opening. It always amazes me how they reach us intact, as the wrapping really is quite thin. The flake is about 6 and a half inches long and weighs 32g, and for the lactose intolerant please note that this product contains *milk*, though it does state that Flake is suitable for vegetarians but not vegans.
---The Cadbury Taste---
The appeal with this product for me is the standard of the chocolate. Cadbury chocolate has to be the best chocolate out there. I don't think any other maker of chocolate can compete with the richness of taste and flavour of the Cadbury brand. It is a quality brand that has the chocolate flavour spot on, whether it be their fantastic 'Fruit and Nut', or their Flake; the flavour is rich, creamy and delicious. I like the layering of the Flake chocolate, and the way it crumbles upon biting.
The hard snap of the chocolate with the first taste and the subsequent melting of the chocolate upon the tongue, the full chocolate taste fills the mouth with the most wonderful taste experience. It is quite a decadent bite which I always really enjoy and I feel fully satisfied after eating one. It is just the right amount of chocolate to eat in one go, and without being sickly, or over filling.-
The Flake does contain vegetable fats along with Cocoa butter. There is NO sesame, Gluten, wheat, egg, peanut or nut and the Flake is suitable for Coeliacs.
---SUMMARY---
I have always loved the Cadburys Flake bar. It's got a fantastic flavour and that's what it is all about really isn't it? To get the cocoa balance just right and Cadburys are masters of this. I like the texture of the Flake also; it makes the Flake fun to eat, and not hard work. The log of chocolate is quite soft and crumbly but it does have a good 'snap' to it on first bite. In fact I like all the Cadbury range because of the taste of their fabulous chocolate. For me it's all about the taste and as long as Cadbury keep their recipe the same I shall continue to buy and enjoy the Flake Bar. 10/10 of course what else could I give it.- Thank you for reading. The most famous is the bright yellow foil wrapped bar. A very simple but striking package with the words Flake in big bold blue letters, Cadburys in smaller letters and the famous saying "The crumbliest flakiest chocolate" On the back you will find the nutrition information ... ...my little visit to the Cadbury web site, I found out the saying 99 came from Italy in 1930. Mr king of Italy himself, had 99 soldiers so this was seen to be lucky. Today after they are popped into an ice cream the name lives on.
If you are not satisfied with your little bar, you can return it to Cadbury Limited, Bournville, P O Box 7011, Birmingham B30 2PY. or Cadbury Ireland Ltd, Coolock, Dublin 5, if bought in Ireland.

It’s a slogan for tortillas, but it could just as well apply here. I used to work in a newsagents and on a Sunday my boss’s partner would go to the local cash and carry to stock up on chocolate, crisps and drinks. He’d arrive back about an hour before we shut and my job for that time was to stock up the counter shelve things and make it all look nice and neat. We would invariably have Flakes for sale, and these came packed in big ... ...wrapping. What fun could be derived from just one of those little sticks.
Cadbury’s flakes are, erm, flakes of chocolate, formed into a long finger like chocolate bar. They taste like Dairy Milk, or like Dairy Milk would if you grated it down and then stuck the bits back together again. Smooth. Creamy. Sweet. Delicious. Untwizzle (what? It’s a word) the end of a flake wrapper and a gorgeous inviting smell creeps out to tease your nostrils. ...

Advantages: Very distinctive and a great shape Disadvantages: A tad messy
...please let me know because Cadbury Flake is hard to beat. I grew up with television images of dusky young maidens lying back in gondolas, slowly peeling back the wrapping and slipping a length...of Flake into her mouth <>. To compound the provocative scenario, the words "Only the crumbliest, flakiest chocolate.." would lilt out in the background to add that dreamy effect to a potential male paradise. The sexual imagery surrounding this and ... ...to promote their wares.
Cadbury Flake has been around for years, having survived any prospective name changes and design although other products have come along to compete with this famous brand (think Ripple etc). Flake is distinctive due to both it's packaging (a bright yellow foil with the words Cadbury Flake in blue writing emblazoned across) and the actual product design. I can't think of any packaging that exactly looks like the Flake type, ...

Advantages: Flakey, tasty chocolate Disadvantages: Can be a bit messy
...introduced in 1911, when John Cadbury (the chocolate man) saw the folds of unused chocolate coming out of the side of the chocolate machine, and he decided that it looked interesting, and decided to make a chocolate bar based on this idea. ~*~*PACKAGING*~*~
The Flake comes in a bright yellow packet, and looks quite elegant. The design is simple yet very effective. The purple text on the front of the packet, works well with the yellow background ... ...not too good for you, but great as a treat. The ingredients and nutritional values are all the back of the wrapper. The packaging is very easy to get into, all you need to do is untwist each end and squeeze the chocolate bar out. Quickness is always best with chocolate, sometimes you get desperate!
~*~*PRICE AND AVAILABILITY*~*~

Advantages: Taste divine Disadvantages: Most of it falls all over the place
A phrase once used by the great Homer J simpson (those of you who don't know who he is, he's a cartoon character in the simpsons). These flakes taste the best I think. They are tasty, light and my god you wish they would not end.
These were first tried by myself a few years ago and I think I did become addicted to them! Everytime I went shopping I had to buy them. Coming in singles, I so wish they would sell multipacks of them because that would ... ...My god I think i'm in love with them! Just writing about them makes me think how delicious they are.
Cadbury's have made an awesome brand here I think because Flake is unlike your usual chocolate bars. It is as if it is just a bar made up of grated chocolate. There is none of the biscuit which is common with chocolate bars, and there is just pure delight filled in this packet. The chocolate itself is fairly soft, thus making it easy to bite into, ...

Advantages: Rich, creamy and a bargain! Disadvantages: Quite a few calories!
I tried these because, well why not!
I have always been a big fan of anything from the cadbury range.
Their products are always high quality and these cakes are no exeption.
The packaging.
comes in a fairly standard box with the yellow and purple cadburyflake colours on.
The cakes are sealed in cellophane for freshness.
The price.
Around £1.75 for 6 cakes.
The cakes.
They are chocolate flavoured sponge with chocolate flavoured cream, covered in milk chocolate with a mini chocolate flake on the top.
Enough chocolate for you?
Each cake contains 120 calories, 9.8g sugar,6.2g of fat and0.15g of salt.
It's very hard to find a chocolate cake that is good quality that doesn't cost a fortune, but cadbury have done it. It's moist, but not heavy.
They are rich and creamy and very very sweet. And whilst a couple will fill you ...
Advantages: A wonderful bite of chocolate Disadvantages: Crumbly
This is one great product from cadburys. They have mixed the wonder of flake mixed with nuts and coated iit n chocolate. A very crumbly bar as expected from flake but pop it in the fridge and you then can bite into it and only loose a the odd bit. I highly recommend this wonderful bar. I try all new chocolate being a chocoholic and this products comes out very high in my ratings. You wonder what else cadburys can keep doing with their faithful old products but with this one they have surpassed themselves. Keep it up Cadburys. What would be a good idea is to make the packaging easier to open, I preferred the old wrapping which you could untwist. Just the most wonderful creamy milk chocolate bar which when bitten into gives you that oooooh feeling. The crunchy nut taste against the milky chocolate is a winner. At the moment with it being ...
Advantages: Chocolate!!! Disadvantages: Not stocked at many outlets
Summer always gets me in the mood for buying ice cream so when I was out doing my weekly shopping the other night I purchased some CadburyFlake Ice Cream Cones.
This product consists of a biscuit filled cone lined with Cadbury milk chocolate filled with soft dairy vanilla ice cream topped with a Cadburyflake 99 bar and swirls of Cadbury milk chocolate.
For those of you interested in watching your figures each cone contains 190 calories and 9.5g of fat.
I paid £1.99 for a box of 4 at my local Sainsbury's but you can buy them indiviually at some shops for around 99p each.
If you love Cadburys chocolate and vanilla ice cream this is the product for you. I certainly was not disappointed so I will be buying some more of these in the future. ...
