** Me, Myself & Chocolate **

Whenever I begin the long road of trying to lose some weight one of the main things I feel I need to leave out is chocolate. This is a bit of a problem for me as I love chocolate. Any kind, any flavour, you name it and I'll eat it. The thing with chocolate is the way it melts in the mouth and leaves a tingle on the tongue. Oh, it's enough to put a smile on my face! I must say I do love most varieties of chocolate and you will rarely see me turn my nose up at anything sweet, but my favourite mouth watering sweet treat is Cadburys Dairy Milk. It is pure, milky, velvety, sweet indulgence. But it doesn't do to be eating this when I want to lose the pounds. A normal size bar (49g) of Dairy Milk chocolate has 255 Calories and a whopping 14.6g of fat!!!!! All in that one little bar! So this definitely has to be off the shopping list. 100%, most definitely this is not going anywhere near my lips.... Well... that is until I found these little beauties...Cadbury Thins

** Cadburys The Famous Bigwig **

In 1824 John Cadbury who was a young Quaker opened his first shop in Birmingham. He actually started as a greengrocer and somehow ended up selling drinking chocolate! Such a simple start, but since then Cadburys has been has linked with chocolate. Probably one of the first brand names that come to mind when you think of a sweet treat. The most famous product of the Cadburys Empire is the Dairy milk bar which first launched in 1905 and since 1913 has been the brand leader for entire chocolate world... oh and my world too!

** Cadbury Thins **

Well, these little delights look exactly the same as the normal Dairy Milk bars, except they are half as thick. (Hence the THIN name). The point of this chocolate is to taste the same on the lips but NOT spend a lifetime on the hips. Because it is half the size of a normal bar it also holds less then half the amount of calories. 100 calories and 8g of fat. A big difference to the full size bar!
So I know what you're thinking.... Hmmmm it has to be lacking in something! Well not really. When you first unwrap the packaging the bar looks almost the same as the old Cadbury Animal Bars. (If you remember them, they were always in selection boxes at Christmas, very thin, square bars aimed at children, but I haven't seen them in years!). The thin bar has four large flat squares for you to enjoy and it looks quite delicate. When you pull a bit off it makes a fairly loud snap sound, which shows you just how thin the bars are.
Now, to be honest it doesn't give me the same indulgent feeling as it does not swirl my mouth around with chocolate. But it does make you take your time a little more and the slower you eat it, the more it melts and it does give you a little mouth watering experience. It still has its creamy taste which is from the fresh natural milk that Cadburys use and I'm glad that they haven't subsidised it for powered milk in the thin version.
The thin bars are definitely enough to give you a chocolate kick and in an odd way make you take your time a little more and enjoy the chocolate taste rather the gobbling it up all at once. To some degree, you could just buy a normal bar and limit the amount that you eat. Maybe a couple of squares a day. But unfortunately I don't have the willpower so these thin bars are perfect for me!

** Packaging **

The packaging is almost identical to that of the original dairy milk bar with the famous purple and white silky packaging. On the front of this bar the Dairy Milk logo has been replaced with an elegant THIN logo and there is a little bright blue square in the corner advertising the 100 Calories feature. So you can't really miss them to be honest.

** The frustrating Part **

I can't find them anywhere! As a one off I found these in Pound land for a box of 6 they were £1. (Yes they were in date and no I don't know why they were so cheap! Oh and they were also in English!). As you can imagine I did stock up and I bought 3 packets. I know it sounds greedy but they were a bargain! Since they have run out of stock which was very quickly, I can not find them in any supermarket at all. So, if anyone does find these on sale please let me know! ;-)

** All In ALL **

When I bought these they were a bargain! But regardless of that the taste is the same as the normal Cadbury Dairy Milk Bar but with a little less guilt attached!
