A lot of people have been fooled into thinking that Cafe Mamba in Taunton , Somerset is in some way linked to the one in Ibiza , it is not . The only thing the two places have in common is the name . There are however a lot of differences , to start with the one in Ibiza is a world class club , and the one in Taunton isnt .
Anyway i am suppose to be doing a review not a comparison so i'll get on with it .
The Cafe Mamba in Taunton is quite frankly not very good . It is set on two levels one above the ground and one below , neither level has any air conditioning , so as you can imagine it gets very hot on a busy night . Also even when the place is full (capacity about 450-500) there only seems to be two barpersons working so it takes ages to get served . The music is also not good , consisting of a man with a cd player pretending to be a dj and playing the cheesiest pop tunes you have ever heard (it is not uncommon to hear steps or 5ive being played) . Also to top things off it seems to be a top place to go if your a squaddy and therefore if you arent a squaddy i would reccomend that you avoid it at all costs .
The only good things about the place are that its only £3 to get in and when you do eventually manage to get a drink from the bar it is reasonably cheap .
