Habitrail Cage
Advantages: Adequete ventilation, attractive, fun for pet. Disadvantages: Quite small, additional tubing etc can be expensive.
I recently brought a habitrail playground although it is basically the same as the safari but in different colours. I purchased it from Pampurred Pets for only £19.99. My first thoughts of this hamster cage were very good, i liked the fact that it came with a wheel, water bottle and food bowl. I also like that although it is a plastic cage, the hamster will still get plenty of ventilation as there are still some bars unlike many other plastic hamster ... ...cage, you would be better off getting soem of the additional tubing as well to make the cage more interesting and to give your pet more to do. A disadvantage of this cage is that it is fairly small. After buying one of these cages i felt that it was too small for my hamster, and therefore bought another one the same and connected the two together using tubing. To buy a set of tubing costs from £8.00 - £14.99 and i bought it from Pampurred Pets for ...

Pink Palace Rotastak Cage
Advantages: Bright and spacious Disadvantages: Fiddly to clean
I bought my daughter a hamster for her birthday along with one of the small Rotastak cages. We then discoverd that the cage wasn't really big enough for the hamster. Whilst in our local garden centre I came across the Pink Palace cage. It was also half price so cost me £25 (£5 less than the original cage I bought). Of course, as soon as my daughter opened the present she wanted it assembled. The cage itself wasn't a problem, the spiral tube was what ... ...(which obviously stops them coming apart at a later date) but this did mean they were very hard to put together in the first place. The cage probably took me about 40 minutes to put together in the end (which doesn't seem too bad but feels like an eternity when you have an 8 year old nagging you to be quick).
The end result though is quite pleasing. I have one very happy daughter and hamster.
The cage is made from a good quality plastic with metal ...

A decent ferret cage for a reasonable price
Advantages: large, multiple access doors, appealing look Disadvantages: eventual rusting of bars, ferret has worked out how to open the doors on his own
The ferplast ferret cage is, in my opinion, a good cage for the price. The bars are well spaced (not suitable for smaller animals which would be able to escape) and there are several access 'doors'. The cage sits upon a relatively deep plastic base (easy to lift off) which is easy to clean, although if your ferret likes to squat in a corner when going to the toilet, there can become a rather clumped mess around the top of the plastic and base of ... ...- this problem could probably be solved by increasing the base depth a little more. Increasing the depth would also help to reduce the amount of 'spill' eg. sawdust that the ferret inevitably kicks out onto the floor. The cage is provided with a couple of levels which you can fit at any height within the cage you desire - this gives the ferret extra room to play around in, there is also plenty of space to add other accessories. There are several ...

Attractive cage, good size and quality
Advantages: good price, comes with accessories, large size Disadvantages: cage bars discolour slightly over time
I bought this cage several months ago when I purchased 4 pet rats - I wanted something that was large enough for them all, looked decent and didnt cost the earth. After extensive searching in shops and online I settled for the jenny rat cage. The cage is big enough to house 4 rats, it comes with food bowls, levels and tubes which all helps to cut down on the cost of buying accessories! There is also enough space to add more accessories if needed. ... ...top and one near the base of the front and back which helps when taking rats out and putting them back in! The top of the cage also lifts off from a plastic base which makes it very easy to wipe down and clean out. The cage bars are of uncoated metal which does start to discolour over time due to rats climbing on and gnawing the bars but this is something to be expected and does not detract to severly from the look. All in all this is an excellent ...
