---Applying---
Applying was fairly easy and is online only. You go to their homepage, click on apply and are taken to an interim page which informs you of their eligibility criteria, and what information they are going to need from you. It's all basic straightforward ... ...I try to log in, Cahoot doesn't have me registered as a customer and when I apply again it says I am already registered - it is supposed to bring you back to the place where you left off in the event of such a situation happening. Anyway, 1 quick call to the Cahoot helpline (in which I was answered fairly quickly and was surprised at how quickly the whole thing was over with), and the guy at the other end fixed the problem. I was to attempt to apply ...

Advantages: Low rates, Good service Disadvantages: Site down time
...I've had a Cahoot credit card for over a year now. The application process was simple and quick, the card arrived promptly and I've had no acceptance problems in any outlet. Periodically there are balance transfer incentives, namely 'reduce you balance by 5%', which offers more immediate rewards than simple lower rate balance transfer options offered by other cards and are truly a inspired tactic. I usually transfer the balance to get the reduction ... ...or made straight from the cahoot website.
A telephone helpline number is provided on the back of all the cards. I have called it on a few occasions and was pleased to find the service friendly, efficient and I wasn't kept on hold for ages. The site is fairly easy to navigate, although it has been down a few times since i've had the account, but the provision of adequate telephone services means that this is not too disastrous. Security wise, in ...

Cahoot is an Internet bank part of the well known Abbey National group. Cahoot began in 2000 & offered only credit cards but recently has added other products to their range i.e current accounts & loans. They have no high street branches & only offer banking via the internet or telephone(at national call charges).
Cahoot was one of the original companies to offer interest free credit cards for a set period of time, I can't think of any at the time ... ...trend. I first heard of Cahoot on a sky digital channel known as "Simply money" it was not an advertisement but a best buy, only being offered to the first 50000 applicants(I think, can't recall the exact numer of applicants).
My experience with them relates to having their credit card & current account. The credit card I originally applied for offered an Interest rate of 0% fixed for a year, extremely competitive. I immediately transfered all my ...

Advantages: High interest current account Disadvantages: None yet
...I recently opened a Cahoot account as I wanted to maximise the interest I earnt on my savings. This happened to be a current account which offers 6.0% interest (as of August 2001 for balances under £50,000) and included a debit card. There's an option for a chequebook - but you get a reduced interest rate and there didn't seem much point to me. The registration process was simple enough - I followed the instructions which lead me through the screen. ... ...point and I couldn't get back to where I was. I called their customer services and was talking to a helpful guy in less than a minute. He said I should register again, and the system would recognise me and I'd be able to carry on - true enough it did, and this time I completed it successfully. Then I was sent an e-mail to say I'd been conditionally accepted and was posted a form to complete. After returning my address ID the account was open within ...

Cahoot is a division of Abbey National plc, who used to be a Building Society (remember them?) before demutualising then broadening its product range in order to leave it in its present state.
Cahoot offer a whole range of financial services: current accounts, credit cards, loans, savings accounts, investment services and share services. I shall focus on just one of these services, the current account.

Setting Up a cahoot current account can be done almost completely on-line. Besides submitting the usual details of name, address, employer, income, etc. you also need to decide on a username, password, memorable year, and memorable place. You also need your mother’s maiden name.
Not everything can be done on-line. Certain formalities are still required to be done by post: signing the application, and providing two proofs of identity ...
