Nibbling away at the Doctor!
Advantages: delicious, chewy sponge, sweet icing, image of David :P Disadvantages: tough icing, dyes fingers
With a birthday, more often than not you'll find a cake on the go! My sixteenth was no different! Now, what sort of cake do you get a teen? Something smothered in chocolate? A mature and sophisticated creamed cake? Not I! Of course, I was unaware of what cake I was going to get; that was down to my Dad, but I was thrilled when I was presented with the Doctor Who Tardis cake (oh, real mature!).
I don't like candles, so my Dad walked through in the ... ...lit up as I spied the gorgeous picture of David Tennant (10th Doctor) peering out of the Tardis door at me (for those who do not care for Doctor Who, a Tardis is the big blue box that is bigger on the inside that the out, which travels through time and space!). The rectangular cake was covered in icing, mainly blue apart from the photo on the top. It certainly did look incredibly sweet and scrumptious!
Doing the honours, I cut into the cake. This ...

Carrots are veg...this has GOT to be Good for you!
Advantages: delicious, cheap, interesting texture,healthy...ish Disadvantages: not as good as the slabs from the Bakers!
...for You cake range from Asda before, so wasn't too sure whether to expect a delight or a flop. The images displayed on the cardboard packaging made the little cakes appear to be quite scrumptious. If they tasted half as good as suggested, then I was in for a real treat!
When I removed the cakes from the packaging, revealing all six in plastic wrapping, a few of the cakes had shifted onto their sides and left little smears of icing on the top. Fortunately, ... ...to be overly healthy, though Asda have managed to make this one quite a treat indeed! With just 83 calories per cake, and less than 3%fat, you're really left with very little guilt! Instead, you're filled with satisfaction!
I would definitely recommend this cake, not just to those watching their weight or wanting to eat healthy, but to anybody who has a fancy for carrot cake and confectionary! It tastes just as glorious as any other carrot cake, ...

You'll have to be a 'ginger binger' to like these
Advantages: Nice soft pudding; generous size; lots of sauce Disadvantages: HOT AND SPICY!
I am a huge fan of very strong and powerful flavours so ginger is amongst my favourites when it comes to tastes; especially in ginger cakes and biscuits. Therefore, when my step-dad brought back a 2-pack of ginger puddings and a 2 pack of steamed toffee puddings, I was left with the only option of ginger to try (though I would have actually preferred the toffee).
The pudding are packaged by a cardboard sleeve and individually contained in a small ... ...and then put in the microwave for 30 seconds. The pudding are a generous size; about the size of a frozen Yorkshire pudding at 100g each. They cost just £1 for 2 which is a pretty good deal to give dessert for 2 people.
When I peeled back the plastic top and plopped the pudding into my bowl I could immediately smell the very strong ginger. The syrup oozed thickly out of the pot and covered the delicate shade of soft brown sponge. The syrup was a ...

Great for a sweet tooth.....
Advantages: cheap, tasty Disadvantages: biscuit could be a bit more crunchier
Just 38p for a 90g tub you really can't grumble!! I am not a huge fan of cheesecakes but I must admit I do quite enjoy this one. The problem I usually have is that there is too much fruit in the topping and as I am not keen on tinned fruit, I found other cheesecakes very off putting. With these though there is just a strawberry sauce, which is actually very tasty, not too sweet not too tart, just right. There's a nice biscuit base but it could be ... ...a decent amount for a small tub too. I also quite like the soft cheese bit, it all tastes really well together. I like to get a bit of everything on the spoon, so that it all mingles together, my partner on the other hand likes to eat in layer by layer!! I find it a bit dry like that though! Overall a great item to have in the fridge if you have a sweet tooth ;O). Obviously you can get nicer cheesecakes but this one for 38p is really good. Summary: ...
