Manufacturer's product description
Creation Station Pro, a professional system for advanced computer design, allows you to unleash your creative powers and gain a real competitive edge: It's the only professional graphics system with a pen capable of 512 levels of pressure sensitivity (twice that of any other competitive product) and a mouse. Flawlessly perform photo and video editing, drawing, painting, image manipulation, illustration, animation, multimedia, web site design and desktop publishing - and more! If you can imagine it, Creation Station Pro can do it! It's a breeze to learn - even for new tablet users - because it comes with TabletWorks, a multimedia tutorial CD. Installation and set-up is complete in a matter of minutes. Using award-winning UltraSlate technology, Creation Station Pro includes a feature-rich tablet with a precision pen, a cordless digital mouse and TabletWorks software - an exceptionally powerful design arsenal. Only Creation Station Pro comes with a pen and a digital mouse. Use the QuickScroll feature with either the pen or mouse to scroll from any point on the screen (no need to use the scroll bar). Pop-up Hotkeys allow heads-up designing. These keys are custom-programmable for as many quick commands as your computer can handle. Just a push of a button on the pen to lighten, fade or erase. Where You Point Is Where You Go (WYPIWYG). A CalComp tablet feature for ultimate precision, WYPIWYG combined with a clear overlay allows for easy tracing. You don't need an extra power supply: The tablet draws power from the keyboard port. Great for laptops and designing on-the-go. Customizable logo strips allow you to set-up your Creation Station Pro to meet your personal needs.
Advantages: A4 Size Sketch Pad, the number of pressure points Disadvantages: Big, wired stylus
...I bought this because I needed to draw in depth CAD diagrams. It looked good because it was A4 size so I though that I could get a lot of detail into the diagram.
I opened the box, took out all the contents, and found the installation book, and another piece of paper. It showed me how to connect the tablet to my PC, I though it would be easy, and that I would have to look at the instructions, but I found my self looking at them after about 5 minutes.
Once the tablet, stylus and mouse were connected, I found that I could control the mouse with the stylus while dragging it across the tablet (pretty cool). When I eventually got down to doing my diagrams, I found that there was no drawing software provided. So I had to order a software package.
I would have thought that the product would have come with some kind of drawing package...

Advantages: Comfortable stylus, not bottom range but not top range either Disadvantages: Slight scratches on the surface of the tablet are visible after a lot of use
...the tablet whilst it is in range; this means that the stylus can be much more like a normal pen or pencil so it fits in your hand much better. Hovering 10mm above the surface is about the maximum range. Note that you don't have to touch the surface to move the cursor.
The Wacom Graphire 3 Classic series is Wacoms mid-range tablet. I opted for the A6 version, which I have to admit I was a little worried about thinking it might be too small, but the difference in price between the A6 and A5 is rather significant (or at least it was when I got mine in 2004). After using the tablet for the past year I can honestly say I'm actually glad I didn't go for a larger tablet. To get the full benefit of using a tablet I have it set to "absolute positioning" mode this means that if I put my stylus on the top left of the tablets active area then my cursor...

Before buying this printer I used a professional lab for all my work. I was never really happy with the quality of black & white digial prints on colour paper.

This is a good quality product that offers good value for money in the short term. Although as with most electronic products, the value will deteriorate over time and should be anle to get a cheaper version next year. It incorporates most of the latest... more
