After owned my PS3 for a while and only having the one game (Resistance: Fall of Man) I got a little bored and didn't really have much to keep me going. Along came christmas and I got COD4 as I'd only heard good things about it.
I completed the single player within about 3 days which I thought was a bit short for a game as I never complete games that quick. The game play, however, was fantastic. I would say it is one of the best single players I have ever played. It was epic, even though short lived.
The game starts with a beginning clip of a man being beated and taken away in a car and delivered in a stadium to be exicuted. You then follow through the game playing as American army and SAS.
Once you complete single player you unlock an arcade mode where you have to play through the maps againsts the clock.
Online. The only play on Call of Duty 4 is second to none currently available on the PS3. It is very addicive and has a lot to unlock. The ranking system and 'prestige' increases the longivity of the online play.
There were issues with the servers that prevented some people being able to connect during peak hours (usually about 6 to 11) however recently these errors have been resolved and you can play at any time without problems.
CoD has many months of playing ahead to I would definatly recommend to someone who has a PS3
