I got Call Of Duty 4 On the day it was released in the United Kingdom - And I have to say I have loved it since then. I play computer games quite abit, having racked up more than 600+ hours Of call of duty 2 on the PC. No game has ever caught my attention for longer than a month, except call of duty 2. So, I hoped that Call Of Duty 4 would live up to its relative, CoD2.
To my delight, I loved Call of Duty 4 far more than Call Of Duty 2, and have played 200 hours of it so far! Heres Some personal opinions on the game for you:
Playability and Enjoyment
Call of Duty 4 is mostly played on Multiplayer, So if you have a good internet connection - Great! Call Of Duty 4 is perfect for you if you like a good old Shoot 'Em up! But If you plan to play singleplayer, dont expect to be playing it as much as them crazy gamers. The game is very enjoyable, and it feels great when you pull a headshot, or do something crazy, but on the other hand, try to keep a fair head because it can get a little frustrating when your doing nothing but dieing.
Adictiveness
The game Is very addictive, in a good way :) With many guns, maps, and options, your bound to play over 500 hours if you have quite alot of time. And if you join a clan, be prepared to play ALOT! When your in a clan, the possibilities really are endless... trainings, tournaments, clan matches, you can be playing for days and days with out getting bored!
Originality
The game is very unique, while most of the Shoot em up games are either World war 2, or the future, this one puts you into a world that is... well... as it is now! Only difference is countries are at war :P This is great because it lowers the confusion. The guns are like todays modern world, no 'Laser guns' or '1st Century rocks' involved. Good old Carbines, AK47s, and RPG's :)
Graphics
If your computer is good enough, you will be playing a game that looks almost liek real life. In a way, Looking at the sun in game actually hurts your eyes. One thing abut CoD4 though is you must make sure your computer is good enough, and its best to have a good PC, otherwise your looking at poor performance. To have your graphics look good and smooth, have a resolution as 1024x768 with specular map and glow ON. Keep shaddows off and dynamic lights low, they dont do much and cut you down.
Sound
Sounds are pretty much always good in PC games, so theres not much to say. The sounds are great though, with alot of ambient background noises to keep it real.
Difficulty & Complexity
Singleplayer - There are four modes, easy, medium, hard, and very hard (veteran) so what ever skill you are, you will be able to kill alot, and get owned :) Multiplayer - This all depends on how good you are with a keyboard and mouse, but your sure to have some good times and bad times, just relax and play. :)
Value for money
10/10 for Value if your a multiplayer fan, but if you only want singleplayer I would give it a 8/10. Its still fun!
Longevity/Expected Longevity
As said; If you are a RPG fan and have a good internet connection, with time, its likely to get 500+ hours, possible even more than 1000 hours if your a serious gamer! Singleplayer you can get a good 100 hours out of it. So expect to be occupied for a while! but remember theres a world out there ;)
For Longevity/Expected Longevity I gave it a few months, because I cant say ongoing, its not possible to be playing it in 20 years... but it could last you a few years!
Final words of the game:
A very good game, in my opinion one of the best RPG games. Ever. If you can, get this game! you wont be dissapointed!
Advantages: Great immersive gameplay and realistic feel Disadvantages: Short singleplayer mode
...and immersive franchise off the Call of Duty production line, Activision can be proud to acknowledge Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare as their best game title to date. A prerequisite for buying any new PC game these days would be to make sure you know the system requirements beforehand to avoid any operational disappointments: '''Minimum:'''

With the world in conflict as a result of both the Ultranationalist threat brewing in Russia, and the pro-extremist coup in Saudi Arabia, it is up to the SAS of Britain and the United States Marine Corps to eradicate the imminent threat of full scale nuclear warfare.
You will ultimately take control of a number ...

Advantages: Graphically challenging the genre in places. Storyline is well constructed. Disadvantages: Single player mode will only last 6 hours or more, depending on your ability.
...admit my addition now. Call of Duty(COD) have been butted up against the Medal of Honour series for years on PC and consoles. The latest incarnation takes you away from WW2 into Modern Day soldiering. I have not completed the game to date, but have a number of hours gameplay on the PC game. I will "not" post spoilers.
My machine is just about able to hold up on the specifications needed to play the game (listed at foot of review) although the graphics ... ...if I missed anything…….nope…..ooh..you can call in airstikes…cool.
Keys are all standard (W,A,S,D) plus the obligatory sprint, jump and crouch. If you are a MoH or CoD veteran, you need know nothing more than you already do. Screen layout is standard. Your overlays for ammo, compass and objective callouts are there. Hit indicators are still in use, so when you are getting damaged, the red indicator will give you a fighting(sic) chance of understanding ...

Advantages: excellent graphics and gameplay Disadvantages: high system requirements
...that I looked forward to Call of Duty 4 (COD4). I had owned COD 1 and COD2 on the pPlaystation 2 and found that they were great games, this though is easily better than both of them and apparently the same is true of COD3 though I have never played it.
The single player mode is very challenging and you have four difficulty modes to choose from. The game breaks you in well with a training mission to get you orientated to the controls and feel of ... ...there is a variety of missions based around two scernarions the first being an SAS trooper and the second a US Marine . The SAS missions in volve fighting against Russian Ultra Nationalists whilst the Marines combat Arabs (in an unnamed country, which by the map looks like Saudi Arabia). On the whole the SAS missions involve being in a smaller team meaning the gameplay relies more upon calling in air strikes and/or sneaking around. Whilst the Marine ...

Advantages: Online and single-player gameplay, graphics. Disadvantages: None.
...known to everyone through their Call Of Duty series. If we compare Call Of Duty 4 with other Call Of Duty series, then It's really different and there are many changes between different series. It's avliable to play it in single player mode and also It's possible to play online. There are many weapon updates and online you get rank ups. Advantages: great graphics, great game play, intense single player, good VOIP to chat to your mates Disadvantages: Hard as hell and very fast paced, the single player is a little short.
...Get 6 and you can call in an airstrike, 7 in a row and you can call in an attack chopper. But its not that easy.
Kill cam
the Kill cam is awesome, just when you think, "What? who killed me??!!" you get a video replay of just who did and how. Its quite funny, or not. The game is fast paced and hectic but fun nonetheless. I wouldnt say it would replace battlefield, but the unlocks are cool and "create-a-class" is neat. Thats where you can choose ... ...you. Plus there are challenges. Get 25 kills with a gun for instance and you get a new attachment for it, and as you progress you can get camo paint for them too. Perks include things like "extreme conditioning" where you can run faster, "juggernaught " which gives you more health, "radar jammer" - duh! etc etc. there loads to unlock and quite a few different guns too infact.
Very very addictive. ...
