The fifth in the Call of duty series now and were back in WW2, this time instead of fighting on the beaches of Normandy, and pushing through enemy occupied France, your fighting on the beaches of Peleliu in the Pacific, and alongside the Russians fighting in Eastern Europe in the push to Berlin.

The game begins in the Pacific. Your character being that of Private Miller. His campaign starts as he is captured by the Japanese and has to endure witnessing the torture and execution of a fellow soldier, before being rescued by his Marine Raiders squad. He then continues through the Pacific campaign and ends at Shuri Castle on Okinawa Island.

But not before heading to Stalingrad, Russia, where you start the story of Dimitri Petrenko. In a fountain, hiding amongst his dead and wounded comrades, he too has to witness the cruel execution of any remaining survivors by Nazi soldiers.
The first level of his campaign is to help an injured comrade a Russian sniper called Reznov, who has been hunting General Amsel who he believed was behind the attack on Stalingrad.
You continue your missions in Eastern Europe making the push for Berlin, with an awesome Tank Level called Blood & Iron, you comandeer, a T-34 Tank and blast your way through the countryside taking no prisoners.
Petrenko's missions end at the Reichstag in Berlin, where the Nazi regime is at its last stand.

Overall the story in my opinion is fantastic, there's only so many times you can fight in Normandy, so it was nice to play through new campaigns and such.

I have a 40" HD TV, so hook my xbox 360 up through the HD component, the graphics are stunning. Sounds are sharper, movement is smooth, and you can tell alot of work has gone into making everything look as real as possible.

Another great thing about World at War is the ability to Do the Campaign over xbox live, on competitive Co-Op mode, and the fantastic Online Multiplayer, If you have Xbox Live, I'd totally recommend you give it a go.
Various online game senario's, such as Team Deathmatch, Search and Destroy, Headquarters, and War, which is similar to Capture the Flag, those are only a few of the types that are available online.

Yet another added bonus, is Nazi Zombies, which at first was only available for people who'd completed the Solo Campaign, but is now available for everyone.
Your character has survived a plane crash, in the middle of the countryside over nazi territory, a nazi soldier comes stumbling over to you, which ends the cutscene, and "Nazi Zombies" begins.

You start inside a derelict administration building, in a large room with several boarded up windows, wave 1 of the Zombie hoarde begins. There is no end to the waves of Zombies that come, you have to purchase weapons, rebuild your barriers if the zombies break through your defences, and try and stay alive as long as possible.

Me and my friends have got to Level 23, by which time it was pretty manic. In the 2nd room of the building, there is a "lucky box" which for just over 900 points you get a lucky dip of a weapon, anything from molotov cocktails, to an alien ray gun.
Overall its just something different and fun to play than the solo campaign, you can play it offline on your own or split screen with a friend, or over Xbox Live with 3 other people.

Overall I'd give the game 9/10, its a must have for anybody who loves the old series, or anyone who loves shooting/war related games.
The only downside to the game in my opinion is there is no Split Screen option available for Online Multiplayer, so 2 people can't play on the same Xbox, over Xbox Live.
