You find your self running through a field, explosions from enemy artillery going of all around you, bullets whirling past your head as you take cover behind any solid object you find. Your fellow soldiers tripping on deadly mines, Blood splatter on your face from your best friend’s brain, you run closer towards the enemy as you dodge and jump scattered corpses. You are surrounded by comrades, soldiers your friends, all fighting for the same cause, “Peace”. No one fights alone in war.

Sounds like a high budget Hollywood film or Saving Private Ryan but this is no film, this is Call of Duty an exhilarating World War 2 game. Based mostly in the Heart of Europe Call of Duty takes you though the horrific situations allied WW2 soldiers confronted during the war. You play as the Americans, British and the Russians as you play through real life events working very closely as a team. You control an individual soldier for each of the countries so expect a gripping story line unlike some other war rivals like Battlefield.

The game play is very easy to get used to, there are no complicated buttons it is just like any other first person shooter. The effects and graphics of the game are amazing they have made it so real and have gone into so much detail. You find yourself in situations were you have to plan routes very carefully especially on the hardest difficulty were there are no medical packs and gun shots are very realistic. There is no such thing as a one man army in this game you have to work as a team to survive.
The graphics are very complex and realistic and a super bonus is that you don’t need a super computer to use them. I’m using an AMD Athlon 1.25ghz and a Nvidia 4 MX 440 with 256 DDR and this plays it very quickly with all the features and medium graphics.

The signal player game is very true to life and includes driving though enemy lines in a car and escaping in trucks while you shoot Germans. When you play as the Russians you get to raid a town with tanks that you control. A downside to the game is the lack of weapons, there are not enough to chose from though there are rocket launchers that you destroy tanks with. It won’t take very long to complete the single player game but Multiplayer is amazing.

Multiplayer is even more nerve racking and tactical than single player as both you and you enemy are even more intelligent than the AI already is. Multiplayer supports loads of players the most I have seen is 42 and when there are that many people on one map you are very lucky to survive. There are a lot of new features in Call of Duty multiplayer, one of them is kill cam so you can the last five seconds of your life to find out how you died. There are a lot of new game types as well like headquarters were you defend or computer a radio and search and destroy were Germans defend a certain structure whilst allies try and bomb it.

Overall Call of duty is an exhilarating experience and teaches game players the value of life and how hard it was for soldiers in WW2. The game shows the bravery of ordinary people like you and me and how they made the world a better place. If there is one thing that this game has taught me it must be that a war or disaster can bring people closer together.
