Advantages Advantages Very handy to keep in your bag

    Disadvantages Disadvantages None

Calpol sachets are a brilliant idea. They are little sachets that contain the correct dose for 1 5ml spoonful of Calpol. This makes it really easy to make sure you are giving your child the correct dosage as it would be dangerous if you are just guessing using a household spoon and giving them too much or the spoon may be too small and you are not giving them enough to help relieve their symptoms. The package tells you which doses to give to each age group. For babies aged 2 – 3 months you can only give them half a sachet so you would still need to measure it out onto a spoon, but then it is ... more

Anyone with a child will tell you that you pretty much have a bottle of Calpol in your cupboard for years and generally have to administer it quite a few times during the month. I really like Calpol as a medicine for my little boy and girl as it is a very good fever reducer because it contains paracetamol and in the right dosage for them. Calpol is basically a liquid form of paracetamol and is intended to relieve pain and fever in many conditions including teething, headache, toothache, sore throat, earache, and so on. What's great is that it really is a heal all medicine in babies and will ... more

Advantages Advantages Tastes yummy, comes in sachets, seems to work!

Disadvantages Disadvantages Expensive compared to other brands, difficult to say whether it works or not

Calpol is the greatest medicine EVER! I adored it as a child, I think most people did. I can even remember trying to milk my illnesses for all they were worth just in the hope that my mum would give me a little more Calpol, lol! Calpol is a beautiful pink colour and has a sweet, but not sickly smell. It has a distinct flavour that no other brand can match; it's a sweet, but not too sweet, strawberry flavour and has a pleasant aftertaste, this is something that is very rare when it comes to liquid medicine! For medical reasons, my son has to have sugar free medicine; I find that cheaper brands ... more

I was advised to buy calpol by my health visitor after my little boy had his first injections. After going to find my usual bottle I found they only had the sachets at my local pharmacy so I decided to give them a go. Calpol is a medicine designed for young children and babies. It comes in a purple box that contains 12 5ml satchets and a spoon so you are able to give it to little one. I find using a syringe is a lot better for younger children as it can be very awkward giving a 3 month old it from a spoon. It has a strawberry flavoured to make it more attractive for children to take, which ... more

Was dreading the teething stage as most new taste she squirms at. how ever on approching her with the capol she took it no problem. with great relief may i add as it help emmensly with the pain of teething and lack of sleep. i tend to buy the smaller bottle as i am always wearl about once it is opened how long it can be kept for. I dont like to give medicine willy nilly, however the doctors seem happy enough to reccomend it for everything. it is a pleasnat medicine with a pleasant colour texture and taste. my child all dont ... more
