Having almost run out of my perfume from my birthday and last Christmas, this year on my Christmas list was more perfume, I have my favourites but I do like to try different fragrances from my regular brands. One of the perfumes I received this year was Calvin Klein, my regular fragrance is Contradiction, but this year I received the fragrance Eternity by Calvin Klein, one I have never tried before, but I was sure I would like it.
Appearance The bottle of perfume comes in a cream coloured rectangle box which is edged with silver border, at the top of the box in thin black capitol letters is the word Eternity, towards the bottom of the box again in thin black letters is written "eau de parfum spray vaporiser" and below this written in slightly bigger letters are the words Calvin Klein, the size of the bottle is also written in the bottom corner of the box, that is basically it for the design of the box, it is very plain and simple but at the same time does look quite stylish. The ingredients are written on the back of the box, again in the same thin styled black writing, making them very easy to read, again the back of the box is just as simple as the front and the ingredients list is the only information written on the back of the box. The bottle like the box is also quite simple but also stylish and would look good on display. The perfume comes in a totally clear glass rectangular bottle which shows off the very pale yellow liquid inside. The words Calvin Klein Eternity is written on the front of the bottle (again in thin black writing) which is very slightly raised, again with the size of the bottle written in very small letters at the bottom of the bottle. The bottle has a shiny silver lid which simply pulls off and pushes back on again, the shape of the bottle is quite hard to describe it is like a rectangle with the bottom 2 corners missing. Overall the whole design of the bottle is very simple but it is one I would be happy to have out on display as although not the prettiest bottle I have it is stylish.
The Fragrance Calvin Klein Eternity is in no way a harsh smelling perfume, I have to admit it does have quite a floral smell to it, but personally I feel this is toned down a little by the base note Musk that is definitely present. I find the fragrance a little hard to describe as it is not what I would call a sweet perfume but not harsh and too flowery, the balance of floral fragrances and musk is just right so that they complement each other producing a long lasting perfume but not one that is too overpowering in fragrance.
Top Notes - Fresh Citrus, Freesia and Sage Middle Notes - Carnation, Violet, Jasmine and Marigold Base Notes - Heliotrope, Musk and Sandalwood
There does appear to be quite a lot of 'flowery/ floral' notes in this perfume which is certainly what gives it its slightly flowery smell, however this as I have mentioned is toned down by the musk which again is very noticeable without being over the top or overpowering. I have to say that so far I am unable to pick out the citrus notes or the sage (not too sure what this would actually smell like) these do seemed to be masked a little by the more noticeable floral and musk notes. The first time I tried this perfume I was very impressed with how long lasting it was, I applied it in the morning and could still smell it on my clothes well into the afternoon, the fragrance had toned down a little by the end of the day and had the musk was even more apparent by now but the fragrance was definitely still there, I did apply a couple more sprays to evening wear but that was more due to my personal preferences I could quite easily have gone without adding to it at all and the perfume would still have been noticeable. Personally I would say that this perfume is suitable for any occasion, it would be ideal to wear every day for work or also for a night out, it is also a fragrance that would suit everybody depending on your personal taste.
Eternity I feel is going to be a very long lasting and economical perfume as I only needed to apply 2 or 3 squirts of the perfume at a time, the spray button on top of the bottle evenly distributed the perfume in a fine mist meaning that you did not apply too much at a time, although so far I have only worn the perfume a few times, I do feel that it will last me a very long time as th fragrance is long lasting meaning you do not need to keep re-applying and you only need a few squirts at a time.
Price Although my Calvin Klein Eternity was a present I have done a bit of research and you can purchase this fragrance in most large department stores as well as many sites online including Cheapsmells.com where they are selling a 30ml bottle for just £19.90, personally I feel this is a very good price for what i believe will be a very economical perfume, it does suggest that its usual retail price is £27.00, however the price will vary slightly depending on where you buy it from.
Overall I would definitely recommend this perfume, it has a lovely fragrance combining floral and musk notes and is suitable for every occasion as well as everybody. It seems as though it will be very long lasting due to not too much being needed at once, and can be purchased at a very reasonable price if you shop around, I feel that this will definilty be one of my regular perfumes in the future.
