A tinker of a perfume!
Advantages: Sexy, seductive and long lasting on and off the skin Disadvantages: Not a great bottle, may be too strong for some people

I had my first bottle bought for me in 1985 when the fragrance first came out, I do love my Mummy lol! It's changed very little in design bottle wise over the years ... ...to the best of my knowledge.
The smell isn't for the faint hearted, I do warn you of that and is very, very rich indeed!
It really is a fragrance that screams I'm here, and great for clubbing as the hotter you get the more the fragrance kicks in lol!

It's like if you wear this strong fragrance you can take the truth or something lol
The Packaging:
Comes in a cream, cardboard box, nothing special about it at all and in fact it's a little masculine to be honest.
The bottle is kind of domed shaped, clear glass and the colour of the perfume is a rich honey colour and it's got a push on brown lid over a gold pump action sprayer. Again nothing really special but it's the contents that counts but the packaging is nice enough and in keeping with the smell type of thing.
The Fragrance:
It's a blend of Vanilla, Amber, Orange Blossom, Oakmoss and other Oriental Spices.
Verdict:
To me the smell is very rich, quite heavy, spicy and sweet but well blended and very smooth. It's deep and very well layered, intoxicating when you put it on and incredibly long lasting on the skin. It's quite a mysterious fragrance too. Every time you smell it you get a different top note i.e sometimes you'll think it's Oriental in fragrance and other times you'll be convinced it's more Vanilla based. It's a bit of a chameleon and a total charmer in my opinion.
You don't need to use loads of it to get the smell of this on the skin, a spritz is just fine! You don't want to go mad with it as you can over do it believe me and it doesn't 'calm down' as such either as it stays heavy on the skin for hours and hours. It's great if you have an evening out planned cos you can leave the bottle at home as you won't need to 'top' this up a all.
Therefore this perfume lasts ages (in the bottle as well as on the skin) and I've worn it on a night out, woke up and rather than smelling of smoke (back in the day) I still smelt of my perfume!Clothes really smell of it afterwards but I must add, wash your clothes on a 40c with decent washing products and the smell does come out fine! Also if you do get this on your clothes it doesn't stain them with a greasy film although it is a dark liquid!
I'd say anyone could wear this fragrance, my Mum uses it, I use it and so does my Step Dad (men's version of course lol),. It spans right across the ages it just depends of course on what you like fragrance wise.
I'd say it's a middle aged fragrance in the main though. Even though you can pick it up cheapish now it's still not the most popular of fragrances so it's a little bit unique cos people have moved on from using this cos of the huge choice we have now! I don't mind being unique though it must be said lol.
Watch out for men though they don't half get the horn with this one I have literally had men chucking themselves at me when I've worn his lol. If you want to seduce someone this should be your weapon of choice. Not only does it smell sexy as hell I find it makes me feel that way too! It's just really uplifting and sexy.
You can now purchase other 'Obsessions' such as Obsession Night and Obsession Sheer, the Obsession 'Original' (I'm reviewing here) and it's available for men and women and the Obsession for Night also is available for men and women.
Shower gel, moisturising lotion and deodorants are available for this particular fragrance as well so you can layer the scent if you desire but do be careful not to over do it.

It's a must have for night time use and a really economical fragrance, you must at least sniff it in your lifetime and I bet you love it!

So I swept my principles under ... ...an Indian prayer stone from Calvin Klein's collection of objects that he acquired in Southwestern USA. Sorry Pierre, it just looks like a blob to me. But a very nice blob.

So who is going to dispute those words? Not me that is for sure. This fragrance has to be my ‘extra special’ perfume. Do you have one? You know for the special person in your life, or that special occasion you are going to. This is mine.

When I hold this in my hands I cannot help but smile.
The box it comes in, I would say is an off-white/cream ... ...the bottom you will see Calvin Klein, Eau de Parfum Spray, plus the amount the bottle holds. This one says 100ml. The box is plain and simple in its appearance but do not be fooled.

Ever since my older sister first dabbed a tiny drop on my teenage wrist I have been hooked, and over a decade later I am still wearing it. I have had complete strangers walk up to me in the street and comment, I have had men 'sniff' me in the pub, and I have had taxi drivers remember me purely by my fragrance. I was wearing it when I met my husband, and I will continue until it no longer exists! CK has created many fragrances since this timeless ... ...Obession has. I personally prefer the dab on cologne style bottle, because even as a seasoned wearer it is all to easy to put on a tad too much, and then you only get noticed for all the wrong reasons. ...just come across Obsession by Calvin Klien purely by accident in my local Boots I was acually after a bottle of Eternity but sprayed myself with this instead. At first I did actually think phewwww bit too strong for me, but after about half an hour of smelling this some what heady and oriental fragrance, I was hooked and marched straight back to Boots to buy a bootle.
Obsession is the kind of perfume that little is more. This is not the kind of ... ...be too over powering. It has great staying power so a re spray is not really needed.
Obsession, has an oriental smell to it mixed with a kind of earthy/woody smell. It lingers but some how does not deminish in it's intensity. More suited for evening wear then day wear. Advantages: Wonderful fragrance Disadvantages: Other women wear it
Recently, while visiting a friend, she spontaneously remarked how much she liked hanging my jackets because of the fragrance my clothes give off. Now, not only is it useful to have a perfume that encourages others to hang your clothes up, but Obsession is a fragrance that I want to be associated with.
I hate those perfumes that smell of soap or that awful chemical approximation of fresh air. I want my scent to leave behind me a memory that fits ... ...a smell, this is what I would want to be. It's spicey, warm and subtly demanding of attention. It is not floral, boringly pastel, nor harsh and bold. It leaves behind a suggestion of a caress in the air. There is also a hint of oriental mystery that appeals to me.

Secret obsession is a sweet floral with smells such as exotic plum, mace, rose de damas, jasmine, orange flower, tuberose, cashmere woods, burnt amber, vanilla and sandalwood. The smell really blends together nicely into a great smell. This perfume is also eaudeparfum, which means the smell will last all night after just a couple of sprays early on. I have to disagree with the bad points of the other review there. I recently got this perfume as a gift and i absolutely love it. I wear it both day time and night time and don't find it too strong. Perhaps it depends how much you put on but it's definately not too strong for a day time perfume.
I do agree with the majority of her other points, it's got a great smell, it lasts ages so you don't need to re-apply every few hours, and comes in a nice bottle.
Like i say, this was bought as a gift so i'm not 100% sure of the RRP and what prices it can be picked up at but i'll be buying it again after this bottle runs out no matter what!
I've been using this daily (and nightly when i go out) for about a month now and it's not going down too quickly. Possibly as you don't need loads of sprays for daytime wear.
