This is surprisingly cheap in comparison to how much it used to cost however it should be noted that you would pay £25-£30 in the shops for the same bottle. Obsession is widely available from all Boots, Bodycare and Rackhams. ... ...what I would say is try out a tester just to see if you can handle the fruity side of Calvin Klein.
After digging around the house last week I came across several bottles of aftershave from my early twenties. Included within the collection of dusty bottles was one of my firm favourites from those carefree times of my life, Obsession for Men by Calvin Klein.
Obviously as the aftershave was well over 4 years old it smelt disgusting but after some consideration I purchased a bottle for £21.00 for 50ml from www.fragrancedirect.co.uk. This is surprisingly cheap in comparison to how much it used to cost however it should be noted that you would pay £25-£30 in the shops for the same bottle. Obsession is widely available from all Boots, Bodycare and Rackhams. My bottle arrived this morning and I’m happy to report that the vile smell that wafted from my old bottle was indeed completely different to the gorgeous smell from my new bottle.
The picture above shows off the bottle in all its dated glory. Yes, it looks nasty. Clear glass, a dark brown coloured liquid and a disgusting brown screw off lid.
First impressions of the aftershave are not good at all. As you remove the lid and apply the fragrance your nose is overwhelmed by a warm and fruity sensation, but rather than giving a warm feel it is overly sickly in nature.
After leaving the fragrance on, it takes well over 30 minutes before it starts to blend on the skin and the actual smell changes. It begins to fade, taking the overpowering edge off and becomes what can only be described as a warm sensual smell with obvious hints of vanilla.
Again, there were no notes with this bottle of Obsession so I couldn’t trace where the smells were coming from but once the fruity tang subsided vanilla was the most predominant smell.
Obsession is strong stuff. I cannot stress this enough and a lot of the aftershave isn’t required to give full coverage. Use too much and every swamp donkey within a 50 yards radius will jump you.
I applied Obsession this morning and it is still very noticeable. I can smell it clearly so those around me can. It has been commented on, but not in the usual way. It’s more of a “is that a new one” rather than “that smells good”. On application this doesn’t sting or burn as much as other aftershaves, it tingles, but no pain, so that is a good thing.
Personally I will only use this now when my others run out or I’m looking for a change for during the day. It certainly isn’t a fragrance for going out on the pull and would make you stand out for the wrong reasons at a special function.
Smells and situations for use aside, Obsession for Men has great staying power (from memory, Obsession lasted for well over 24 hours if applied in any great measure meaning that it has great staying power) and lasts for over 12 months with liberal usage making it great value for money.
When I used this in my late teens and early twenties I liked it, my friends liked it and more importantly the girl I was seeing loved it. Looking back I think I’ve outgrown this, my tastes have changed significantly over the years and this isn’t one I’ll be buying again.
It isn’t a bad fragrance but it just isn’t for me. It smelt great in the bottle and it'll probably sit there for a long time to come.
I can’t recommend this, but what I would say is try out a tester just to see if you can handle the fruity side of Calvin Klein.

...was Obsession for men from Calvin Klein. Having disliked CK1, CKBe and the CK fragrance stored in a plastic pencil case (the name of which escapes me) I have never been a fan of Calvin Klein fragrance in the past but since it was a gift I gratefully accepted it.

Considering this is meant to be a man’s fragrance this is one of the most feminine bottles that I have ever seen.
The bottle is oval in shape that slightly tapers ... ...product is aimed at. Whilst Calvin Klein is a strong brand this particular fragrance is not. The smell of this is not masculine in any way, even though it is aimed at men. It is a fragrance that a woman could get away with and not be labelled butch but I don’t think there are many woman that would like this. Even my other half turned her nose up at this.

Advantages: Gorgeous and most distinctive aroma, affordable, stylish packaging Disadvantages: None that I can think of
I love this fragrance because my husband used to wear it when we were courting. In those days I would sniff my cusions and clothes when he had been near them to get that smell of 'him'. That way I could be reminded of his lovely presence even when he was not there.
Obsession is *the* superlative men's fragrance because it is so unlike any other aftershave I have ever smelt. Whereas most aftershaves are very cool, green or citrus like, Obsession ... ...hints of vanilla, myrhh and spices and the fragrance just blows me away. I just love it when I get a whiff of hubby when he is wearing Obsession. I just *have* to go up to him and nuzzle his furry chest which traps the molecules of fragrance wonderfully. Although I would say this fragrance wouldn't be to every man's (or their woman's) liking, my husband always has plenty in stock - I see to that! It's sexy, sensual and extremely evocative. Obsession is one of the ageless and timeless fragrances. First launched in 1985. You never get bored of it and you keep going back to it again and again. This is a fragrance which has survived the 80's, 90's and the 00's. Reading through the manufacturers website this fragrance supposedly gives you hints of lavender, mandarin, clove, nutmeg and amber. The smell of this perfume is slightly musky with a hint of cinnamon
Personally for me it is just ... ...Every women I been out with have commented on this fragrance some have even recognised it outright when in a crowded busy bar!
I have read that smell is the strongest sense when it comes to nostalgic memories from the past, so if you want somebody to remember your scent, Obsession is the one for you
This fragrance is definitely keep the women in your life happy and if there are none it is definitely a hit with the single ladies.

...scent on him, it was Calvin Kleins Obsession, I was surprised, usually I can spot an aroma at fifty yards and shun from men wearing aftershave or perfume, but my nose hadn,t run once. I found that this fragrance was very pleasant. I bought some the next time I was in town and my hubby liked the scent too.
He now uses it for going out and like I said I have just bought some for christmas, so if your short of and idea then here it is.
