The friend of mine who had purchased the LG SW 700S monitor which I have reviewed had purchased this Set of Multimedia Speakers. Though I like Cambridge products, this is quite disappointing when it comes to ‘Rocking its Users”. Read on to find out Y. ( Taking a sip of 1890 French Wine)
Another of those sets which Don’t BANG as much as they CLANG!!!. The bass is kinda good – like its quite moisturized ( though not much ), it is quite enormous but lacks in depth & detail. Sometimes the bass can grip you but more than often it does not. And when you increase the volume to about 40 – 50% the bass gets more & more Hollow ( which sounds empty ) & the moisture ceases to exist at all. But the mids are well defined with ample surround effect & mass & they hit right in the center of the audio image ( like a good speaker ) & the soundstage is around a couple of feet wider on the either side of the speakers & height is around 2.5 feet lesser than the satellites till the ground, Clashes, Clangs & all mid frequency sounds have very good body & depth to keep you mesmerized. The Highs are also quite captivating, with the Spine Chilling effect & very high transparency ( but you got to meddle with the equalizer settings ). But you will be annoyed with a hissss if your tracks are not filtered or are of not so good quality recording. But on the whole if you can maintain a volume of up to 30% then you will surely have a pleasurable Audio Experience. If you need higher volume then you’d better lower the Bass or you’ll be greeted with violent jarr’ing sounds. __________________________ ***EASE OF USE. [4/5]*** __________________________
It sure is quite stylish to show off, cos it has got a wired Remote like Volume control wheel which is like a mini-mouse. It sure is sometimes irritating as it can be a hurdle on a small desk but you can stick it to the Tower or the monitor or even the wall, so that must not be much of a trouble. But though saying all this, I must add that the volume control is for the overall volume of the set of speakers. As long as the wired volume control has been provided, Cambridge could have provided even the Subwoofer, Equalizer controls on it quite cleverly though. Maybe they haven’t given much thought to it!! But still considering so many ‘Obese’ people in the world, bending or walking a little to adjust the controls may help in reducing, so you see you can take advantage of it ( I’m not rebuking anyone, please! ).
The Aesthetics really failed to impress me as a Techno - System or as a classic. The colour dynamics is not so pleasing & has a really bald appearance though the FPS 1600 come in more shades, all of them are quite the same. And one thing I wanted to share with you is the idea of providing satellites, as far as I know GRUNDIG had introduced the idea of satellite speakers in the late 1960’s so even Bose is not a pioneer in that department & these multimedia companies stand nowhere. I can’t offer more than a 2/5 for Aesthetic here.
It is really strong too ( ok, not quite as strong as me! ), cos the tap test returned a sturdy sound of low frequency indicating Good build quality for this product ( it is relative ). And a low frequency Tap response is good because then there won’t be much resonance effect ( this occurs when to similar frequency waves interfere ) & irritate the users. But the polymer is not so Heat dissipative, this being the case, improper ventilation or cooling can damage the internal mechanism on the long run ( but then how long will you use it?? ). So a 4/5 rating is not bad. But still I stick to the same dialogue mentioned in my other reviews. Can Anyone Out There Formulate A Better POLYMER????????? ____________________________________ ***TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS*** ____________________________________

This is quite like a Nickel & Dime date. But may not be a memorable for those who live – ‘ BASS ‘ . But for the other kind who are quite tight in the Finance department the FPS 1600 may actually be an angel in disguise. Though I’d prefer a set with a better Bass I recommend this to the Non-Bass kind listeners cos even the price of about £34.00 is very consumer friendly. Maybe if you have the time you can get the Subwoofer modified to provide more bass. I’d Surely Go on a Nickel & Dime Date.Yours Memorably, Jedi_kickass ( ‘ _ ‘ )

...on the market today. The Cambridge Soundworks Fourpoint Surround series. To truly give you a matched and balanced sound, Cambridge have partnered Creative to create these technical masterpieces. Advantages: Surround Sound, Size, Sound Quality Disadvantages: Distortion at high levels
I used to have some very basic speakers, the ones which came with the computer, so not very good quality, as im sure you can imagine! I had been looking for something worth upgrading to for a few months, but there just didnt seem to be anything in my price bracket. Then i found these, and whoa!

When you see "four point surround sound" written on the box, thats what you expect to have - not strictly true. The only way in which you will ... ...of two methods.
1. You must have a sound card capable of surround sound, that is one which has two outputs (one for front, one for rear).
2. The program or game you are using must support it (EAX is the "Creative Labs" technology which does this).
If you have both of the above then you are fine, you will have surround sound, if however you dont, you may be thinking "well whats the point in upgrading to these if i dont have a surround sound capable ...

Advantages: Excellent sound quality, great value, thumping bass Disadvantages: May randomly tune into radio stations, albeit very quietly
Unless you've used your PC with a decent pair of speakers you won't know what you're missing; but when you do know what you're missing you'll NEVER want to even think about going back. We've all used the cheap "tinny" £10 speakers thinking they'll do, but they souldn't! It's a crime against your ears.
The box comprises 4 satellite speakers for true surround sound and a subwoofer speaker for pounding bass. the satellites are very deceptive in that ... ...could do much, however, the volume can be turned right up or right down and the sound does not become distorted or crackly.
At first, the number of wires is very daunting, but thankfuly the instruction manual is excellent and guides you through the installation, which isn't nearly as difficult as it looks. Once installed, operation is very simple, there's a knob on the back of the subwoofer to control the bass level, so you can have thumping beatz, ...

Advantages: Excellent sound - Great price Disadvantages: Tripods are a bit flimsy
The FPS1000 speaker system isn't the best setup in the world, it has to be said, but with the correct sound card, I own a Creative Sound Blaster Live 5.1 Player, the sound at even a quarter of the possible volume is plenty for everyday use. Crank the volume up for those dance tracks you've just downloaded and you get the impact of a full-blown stereo system. Friday nights allow you to annoy the neigbours when you take the decibels up to the max. ... ...The four speakers are small in comparison to complete stereo or surround sound systems but they pack a hidden punch, this combined with the excellent sub-bass woffer which is placed centrally all give this sound system unstoppable, ear pounding volume.
It is all very simple to set up and the only down side is that the cables are a little obtrusive, but you would get that with any sound system.
One of the main advantages in every day use is the ...
