I bought this "system" so many years ago and it's still kicking butts. I absolutely LOVE the sound quality (and how loud it can get). It's great for playing action videogames and, honestly... more

Advantages Advantages Quite Cheap for a Cambridge Set, Satisfactory Sound, Good build quality, Quite easy to use.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Bass is not so Moisturized, Aesthetically Bland

The friend of mine who had purchased the LG SW 700S monitor which I have reviewed had purchased this Set of Multimedia Speakers. Though I like Cambridge products, this is quite disappointing when it comes to ‘Rocking its Users”. Read on to find out Y. ( Taking a sip of 1890 French Wine) ***SOUND QUALITY. [3/5]*** Another of those sets which Don’t BANG as much as they CLANG!!!. The bass is kinda good – like its quite moisturized ( though not much ), it is quite enormous but lacks in depth & detail. Sometimes the bass can grip you but more than often it does not. And when you increase the volume ... more

Advantages Advantages Great sound quality, excellent acoustics

Disadvantages Disadvantages set up and hardware requirements.

I liken PC sound to an optional extra in your car. Sure, your car will function without it but think about how much more pleasureable your journey would be if you had it? It is the same with sound. Sure your pc will work fine without it (most work PC's do anyway) but to truly appreciate the finer points of Multimedia experiences and game playing, you do need sound and music. As with all things PC based, you can quite happily run sound on your computer quite cheaply. After all, most modern PC's come with on board sound technology and you just need to provide a set of speakers or headphones. But ... more

Advantages Advantages Surround Sound, Size, Sound Quality

Disadvantages Disadvantages Distortion at high levels

I used to have some very basic speakers, the ones which came with the computer, so not very good quality, as im sure you can imagine! I had been looking for something worth upgrading to for a few months, but there just didnt seem to be anything in my price bracket. Then i found these, and whoa! Features When you see "four point surround sound" written on the box, thats what you expect to have - not strictly true. The only way in which you will get the true surround sound effect is by the use of two methods. 1. You must have a sound card capable of surround sound, that is one which has two ... more

Advantages Advantages Excellent sound quality, great value, thumping bass

Disadvantages Disadvantages May randomly tune into radio stations, albeit very quietly

Unless you've used your PC with a decent pair of speakers you won't know what you're missing; but when you do know what you're missing you'll NEVER want to even think about going back. We've all used the cheap "tinny" £10 speakers thinking they'll do, but they souldn't! It's a crime against your ears. The box comprises 4 satellite speakers for true surround sound and a subwoofer speaker for pounding bass. the satellites are very deceptive in that they are very small and don't look as though they could do much, however, the volume can be turned right up or right down and the sound does not ... more

Advantages Advantages Value for money, surround effect in games

Disadvantages Disadvantages Lots of cabling, not perfect quality

I have a SoundBlaster Live! soundcard which offers connectivity for four speakers. I decided to make use of this connectivity, so I bought a set of these four point surround speakers. At under £50 I wasn't expecting superb sound quality, and I didn't get it. But it came pretty close! The fact that there are four speakers plus a sub compensates for the lack of power of each individual speaker. The speakers are excellent for games such as Half Life, where you can actually hear things going on around you. This really improves the gaming experience, with enemies being heard all around you and ... more
