Sony HDR-UX3E - Top Quality Product
Review of Sony Handycam HDR-UX3E by traveller10

Advantages: SuperSteady Shot allows A1 recording
Disadvantages: None that I could see

This product is superb. I think it is worth evry penny ( prices do vary between suppliers so watch out). I must admit that I found this product be delightfully compact and it was quite simple to use ( at least you dont need a Phd to understand it). Those of you out there who are not the most technically mnded ( sorry I'm so like you ) will like this product. I must say that I found the colours to be far superior to others similar products I have ...
...Definition. It has a built in micro phone and the surround sound makes a delightful change from lesser models on the market. While recording you can take still shots as well and if you are not the steadiest or most confident person in the world then there is no need to worry as the Supersteady Shot takes care of that for you, so you can now impress all your friends with top quality recordings. The battery lasts about 5-6 hours. Top product. ... Read review

Sony HC39, they just keep getting better
Review of Sony Handycam DCR HC39 by chapuk

Advantages: excellent lens quality, widescreen LCD, mega pixel
Disadvantages: No DV in

Sony have been the leaders in the camcorder market for years, and with the quality of this new range that shouldn't change. The HC39 is a mid-range model from sony, but don't let that fact give you the impression this camera is inferior in any way because that is not the case. To begin with every sony camcorder includes a lens by Carl Ziess, one of the best lens manufacturers in world. This lens gives amazing clarity, and with a 12X optical zoom, ...
...use. All of the sony models also include super steady shot, so when recording whilst zoomed in, the picture does not shake. This model also has a memory stick slot so you can take still images and save them directly onto the card making it easier to download to your pc, and keeps the tape solely for video. The quality of these still shots are slightly higher than most camcorders on the market at 1.03 mega pixel. The HC39 is also the first of sony's ... Read review

Small is Beautiful
Review of Sanyo HD1000 by fubaringly

Advantages: Size, price, video quality
Disadvantages: DVD creating due to fps rate

This Sanyo camcorder is apparently an attempt to capture both the video and still photo market and offer both types of customers one product. The first thing I have to comment on is the super stylish design, this thing it just great looking, it's also very small and light (just 300g). When I first picked one up I couldn't resist the temptation to pretend it was some kind of start trek phaser, I also had a strange urge to try and shave with it! ...
...easily but is it any good? Well the digital camera is only 4 mega pixels which frankly is not high enough these days. The video recording is full HD 1,920 x 1,080d and I think very good quality, It's the same standard found on many higher cost camcorders from other companies. One of the reasons the cam is so compact is because it uses flash memory cards, which is great for transferring footage. A big disappointment is that a SD card is not included ... Read review

perfect choice for active and holiday filming
Review of Canon FS100 by fubaringly

Advantages: small, good looking, long battery life, quick transferring of footage
Disadvantages: No high Def.

The key fact to this video camera is that it records onto flash memory. Because it uses these SD and SDHC flash memory cards you get some useful benefits; 1) The battery last longer than HDD, DVD or tape cameras. The standard filming time is 3 hours. 2) Transferring video and photos to a PC is incredibly simple, you just stick the SD card into your PC card reader (I haven't seen a PC sold without a built in reader for years) and drag the files over ...
...light, not much bigger than a digital camera. So it can fit into your bag without it being a pain to carry around. It's also pretty good looking which is a nice bonus and really well designed to fit in your hand comfortably. Its worth mentioning that if you forget to put a SD card in you can still record directly onto the internal memory. Also as SD and SDHC cards get bigger and bigger in capacity you have a camera that will never be limited by ... Read review
