Intelligent design... quality not quantity!
Review of Panasonic HDC-SD5EG-K by piratess2104

Advantages: Durability, intelligent design, advanced OS system eliminates shakes, good accessories
Disadvantages: Easy to be ripped off, not always in stock, overhyped, few unsual features

A review of the new Panasonic HDC-SD5EG-K, a digital camcorder. SUMMARY: 1) DIMENSIONS/WEIGHT 2) APPEARANCE 3) DURABILITY 4) RECORDING 5) LENS 6) DISPLAY 7) FEATURES 8) ACCESSORIES 9) OVERALL DIMENSIONS/WEIGHT: This camera is the world's smallest 3CCD High Definition Camcorder, and it's also extremely light, weighing in at less than most of its competitors at 340g. APPEARANCE: Disappointing. It's just a regular, black camcorder design - only small. ...
...was pleased to find that Panasonic don't stint on accessories, and the following are included: AC adaptor; AC cable; DC cable; Battery Pack (rechargeable), PC, video and AV cables; IR Remote. The whole thing was sensibly packaged. OVERALL: A great camera, especially good for the cameraman (or woman) who really wants not to BEGIN filming, but to improve the quality and consistency of their film images. My one absolute warning is on PRICE. If you decide ... Read review

Brilliant budget camara
Review of Panasonic NV GS230 by tomc123

Advantages: Easy to use and very very cheap
Disadvantages: no lens cover and no built in light

This is the new Panasonic NV GS230. This is an incredibly versitile little camera and at the price is very affordable. This is a very easy camera to use and its functions are very easy to understand although they are quite basic but if your like me and don't want hundreds and thousands of little buttons flashing at you it is perfect. Now before you ask i know this is a mini dv camera so i know its not the most recent in camera technology but i really ...
...unless your filming for amateur films or something i really cant see the need to spend that much more when mini dv is perfectly acceptable in fact is more than adequate and is excellent value for money. For stills this camera offers 2.3 mega pixels not brilliant but if you want good stills use your digital camara!! its not what its built for. The camara also offers SD storage for that extra memory space which i personally find very useful. One ... Read review

Embarrassingly Unfashionable
Review of Panasonic NV GS320 by smooth_criminal_

Advantages: Very affordable, reasonably high quality
Disadvantages: Not very attractive, poor battery-life

...digital video-camera? Since discovering the Panasonic NV GS320 last week, I have been slaving over this question, pondering and musing, desperately trying to seek a definitive answer. Is it astounding quality, or diversity of features; is it value for money, or incredible good looks? I have all of these things. But the Panasonic NV GS320 does not. On paper, it is a fantastic video-camera; indeed, I thoroughly enjoyed using it. It offers a variety ...
...The primary function of the Panasonic NV GS320 is, unsurprisingly, to record videos. As we have seen, it performs well here, delivering high quality movies with fantastic colour. Given its effectiveness with colours, the NV GS320 is especially good for filming outdoors. So whether you’re out on a stroll at sunset, or having a picnic on the grass, this video-camera is perfect for capturing the moment. Furthermore, the camera also serves to capture ... Read review

By far the best 'normal' priced camcorder around
Review of Panasonic NV GS400 by ruggero

Advantages: Awesome video quality; superb camera for amateur moviemakers.
Disadvantages: Charger design 'flaw'; below-par stills; no pro audio sockets.

...I was told by a Panasonic salesman. I, too, found no differences in the specifications and it was at least £100 cheaper than I could find the 'B' model for online and £550 lower than Panasonic's UK list price! Just the UK warranty is missing, but you can register online for a warranty anyway. The box includes UK, US and European power cables and an English manual, so everything really is there. I bought from eBuyer but it could now be cheaper elsewhere. ...
...outdoors in good light and is helped by the top quality Leica lens. Each CCD is larger than the single one in most consumer cameras! Colours look fantastic and detail is excellent. Even in low indoor light, the large lens and CCDs help it perform very well. Budget moviemakers should look no further. For a film-like look, the true 16:9 widescreen mode is essential and really does widen the angle of view over the standard 4:3 ratio. No dodgy cropping ... Read review

Panasonic SDR-S100
Review of Panasonic SDR-S100 by i_never_knew_that

Advantages: Small, compact design
Disadvantages: Short recording time

The Panasonic SDR-S100 uses a Secure Digital (SD) card for recording instead of using any kind of tape, because of this the camera itself if very small. Because of this I sometimes find it a little difficult to use, the zoom function is a scroll wheel and it can be slightly difficult to use at times, but it is easy enough to use your other hand if needed. The camcorder has a 2.8 LCD screen that can be used to watch what you are filming if you prefer, ...
...this is clear and bright and is it possible to tilt it to through to a 180 degree angle. The camera has an image stabiliser and a 10x opticall zoom for close up shots. The camcorder doubles up as a still shot camera, giving you a 3.1 megapixal resolution. The SD card that is bundled with 2GB which gives you approximately 27 minutes of recording time in high quality mode, and approximately 40 minutes on low quality mode. Additonal cards can be bought ... Read review
