I bought this as an ex-demo item through eBay, and have been delighted with it. The 40x optical zoom is the star feature as far as I am concerned. I tried filming birds in the garden, and it';s surprising how fearsome a robin can look when it ffills the frame! The unit is comfortable in the hand, and all the filming controls are well positioned. So far, I have just used DVD-RWs, and these have worked fine when replaing the recordings on my desktop ... I believe both curry's and comet still stock this camera and it can also be picked up many places on line although shop around as I have seen it for as little as £179.99 to as much as £225 so be careful where you buy it.
