Take One - Action!
Review of Sony Handycam DCR SR52E by
BlueMidget
Advantages: Great camcorder, easy to use and excellent quality
Disadvantages: Not within everybody's price-range
...Eventually, he decided that the Sony DCR-SR52 was suitable for everything his ‘current’ model did, with many, many additional features too.
You may question how I can review what is essentially my father’s camera. Well, having a fairly large family there is almost always an excuse for family get together’s and therefore plenty of video opportunities. I, for some reason that I haven’t entirely been able to explain, nearly always find myself as the ... ...encounter in most programmes, but Sony have decided to ignore the tried and tested method and sadly this makes it not quite as user-friendly as it could have been.
~~~ Cost ~~~
The camcorder’s RRP is around the £450 region; however there are some excellent offers to be had with this particular model – we managed to save £100 on the RRP by buying it via Amazon, but I’m sure if you were to shop around you could find some other great value deals.
A great camera
Review of Sony Handycam DCR SR30E by
FrancescaTimbers
Advantages: slim, waterproof camera and offers antishake
Disadvantages: Sound not of great quality
This small handy digital camcorder is a point-and-shoot model offering a number of great technologies such as Green/blue screen, Stabilization, light capture technology and touchscreen editing as well as a powerful zoom in/out, All-Weather body design. Sometimes water and photography are a bad combination, limiting outdoor photography options when rain, snow or sleet are involved. However, this digital camcorder can go virtually anywhere. The aluminium ... ...be held in one hand during recording without the picture going jagged. Battery life also extremly long and battery is lightweight so spares can easily be transported along with the camera if you require. Sound quality not quite up to the same superior quality of the picture, and can be slightly echoed/fuzzy/disorted but all together a great camera! Would reccomend. ...
Sony HC39, they just keep getting better
Review of Sony Handycam DCR HC39 by
chapuk
Advantages: excellent lens quality, widescreen LCD, mega pixel
Disadvantages: No DV in
Sony have been the leaders in the camcorder market for years, and with the quality of this new range that shouldn't change. The HC39 is a mid-range model from sony, but don't let that fact give you the impression this camera is inferior in any way because that is not the case. To begin with every sony camcorder includes a lens by Carl Ziess, one of the best lens manufacturers in world. This lens gives amazing clarity, and with a 12X optical zoom, ... ...use. All of the sony models also include super steady shot, so when recording whilst zoomed in, the picture does not shake.
This model also has a memory stick slot so you can take still images and save them directly onto the card making it easier to download to your pc, and keeps the tape solely for video. The quality of these still shots are slightly higher than most camcorders on the market at 1.03 mega pixel. The HC39 is also the first of sony's ...
NV GS60 Panasonic Camcorder
Review of Panasonic NV GS60EG-S by
xia1
Advantages: Good Zoom, easy to use, good picture
Disadvantages: Didn't include DV cable, uses battery charge fast
I have owned the NV GS60 for over a year now and I am still happy with its performance. It hasn't broke or stopped working at all ever. It has a good 30x zoom. It came with 6 tapes to record on and i bought it off Amazon for £114 pounds. It has a 2 inch Lcd optional screen or you can use it the normal way.
It isn't hard to operate and i found easy to use, within a few days i was recording, editing and using clips on the internet! It was a shame ... ...buy that seperately. Mine came with a Television cable but dissapointingly not with a DV cable which is neccesary to connect to your laptop or PC. The battery doesn't take long to charge and after an hour it's about done. But it used the battery charge pretty fast so i had to charge it again. Also it's a bit of a fumble putting the battery in the camcorder.
I was going to buy a tripod but didn't bother as i had already started filming. My whole ...
