Flash little number Advantages: compact, inexspensive, easy to use Disadvantages: poor in bad light I saw this camcorder, and immediately wanted it, regardless of its performance. Its very compact and looks great, in red. After buying it I found it easy to use, and quite straight forward. This I found quite refreshing in todays technological complicated world. The touch screen format adds to its ease of use, and is a flashy extra. When I purchased the camcorder there was a good cheque back offer of £50 available on it which made it even better ... ...it. In my opinion it has all the latest facilities available for the average user. However it has some drawbacks, the instructions could be more easy friendly especially the parts on how to load onto PC and other media. In bad light the lux facility is a major drawback. JVC Everio GZ-MG680 BEK HDD camcorder Advantages: Very good size and quite easy to use at an excellent price. Disadvantages: Pixmania inefficiency Overall this is an excellent product at a very good price of £301.00 delivered by Pixmania on time. However, the first hurdle to overcome is the ordering system on the Pixmania web site. This insisted on keeping in our basket a previous camcorder we had purchased from Pixmania (and was stolen) a few years ago. It took a phone call to their customer service department to sort this out - when we finally managed to find a telephone number to call. ... ...should have arrived with a Micro SD card, but this was missing. Another phone call told us we should return everything in its original packaging and await a replacement. This was impractical and very inconvenient as my wife wanted to take the camcorder to Spain for a wedding, and in two weeks time to China. The first time you switch it on it starts up in Auto mode, meaning the focus, screen brightness etc is correctly selected for you. You can easily switch to manual mode but I have not been brave enough yet!! Sony Handycam DCR-DVD105E Advantages: cheap and easy to use Disadvantages: DVD disks unreliable and difficult to import video to PC Found this camcorder very easy to use the controls were very user friendly. Single record stop button and zoom in and out toggle switch. You have the option to use the viewer or the pull out LCD screen whilst recording. The LCD screen can be flip around 180 degrees to allow playback and editing of the stored clips. Video quality is not bad for the 800k pixel sensor, it does struggle in poor light though. The camera snap feature is poor resolution. ... ...they are 1.5Gb and hold about 30mins of footage, you can get double sided ones which help a bit. I had big problem trying to get the video on to my PC to back up and I lost full dvds with the disks going faulty and being unable to read.
