Panasonic HDC-SD20, great compact HD camcored for less then $600 Advantages: Some great features are the optical image stabilization and Intelligent Auto (iA) technology. Panasonic HDC-HS300 Advantages: Incredible image quality & colours, focus ring, Leica lens Disadvantages: Battery life, fiddly menus, cost I am a wedding and event Videographer and I use this as a secondary camera to my Sony Z1. I’ll start by saying this is a great wee camera. It is small, light and fairly durable. It is a fantastic handy cam. The Camera has a built in 120GB hard drive which is a great size and does not make the camera bulky in any way. If you find that is not enough storage space it is a hybrid camera that can use SD cards as well which is a great feature. The camera ... ...1920x1080 which is the highest and best quality, down to 1440x1080 which is the lowest quality but still fairly good in my opinion. The mode you shoot will affect how much memory is used. The higher quality obviously uses up more memory but with a 120GB hard drive I have never had to reduce the quality. Samsung SMX-C10 cute but a let down Advantages: Time Lapse Function, One Button upload to YouTube Disadvantages: No SD Card encompassed in price, distracting noise in recordings. If you are looking for a cheap camcorder with a decent brand name and sleek looks, then you've probably found your ideal product. This is very lightweight, and boasts a beautiful almost translucent casing with crimson shining through. What drew me to this camera was the time lapse feature - incredible feature for a product at this basic entry level. Overall, fairly happy with my purchase but there are drawbacks....... My main bone of contention ... ...have now had two of these models - I took the first one back to the shop thinking it was faulty, but the second has proved to be the same, so it must just be the build quality of the camcorder......basically the only way I can describe this, is that through your recordings you will hear a very distinct whirring and clicking.....like a tiny fax machine!
