Panasonic SDR-S7
Review of Panasonic SDR-S7EB-K by Rookgun

Advantages: Size, weight, robustness
Disadvantages: Price, rather light!

...stuff If you install the Panasonic software, which I suppose most people will, you are at the mercy of the company and what it thinks you should (and shouldn't) do. I haven't gone down that road, so I cannot comment on Panasonic's efforts in that direction. I do know that Canon's software is the despair of many, and frankly I was not about to risk our already fragile Windows setup when I could probably do better without proprietry programming. ...
...clips. You either whip out the SD card and transfer the files via a card reader, or plug the camcorder straight into the PC via the supplied USB card, enabling Windows to see it as another drive and do essentially the same thing. This interferes with Windows absolutely minimally. Transferring the clips to the PC is a vastly quicker process than having to play the videos out into an editor, which is required by any tape system. HD and DVD-based camcorders ... Read review

Panasonic's little marvel
Review of Panasonic NV GS60 by LHPMEDIA

Advantages: Ease of use, ability to do the job
Disadvantages: no headphone socket or mic input

I am a professional film maker. most times I shoot with Canon XM2 cameras. The tech spec of this interested me, its seems the money gone into the camera spec, not the frills. Ease of use is a big plus, easy to hold steady with both hands and the zoom..well superb. A brilliant all rounder and cheap enough to buy two which I did. Ebay offers them at around £130 and compared to other cameras in that range there is little competion. Picture quality is ...
...the sound, here it could be better, but hey a piece of dense foam infront of the mic makes a big difference, i can live with that. As a first and only camera you could make a film for Tv no problem, as a second/third cam on a shoot, I challenge you to spot the difference on most occasions between this and a camera 10x the price! Buy it. www.LAURENCEHOGGPRODUCTIONS.co.uk ... Read review

Camcorder excellence for hardly any £
Review of Panasonic SDR-H20 by Mike_el

Advantages: the storege space 30GB!!! great picture qualtiy, transferable to pc/DVD
Disadvantages: the battery could last a little longer

...30GB memory and made by panasonic I thought I was dreaming. For the type of camcorder it is I cant highlight enough how great a buy this is ull never find a similar competive priced camcorder with the same features and quality as the SDR-H20 anywhere. The camcorder has the main features of all camcorders these days with some very helpful ones such as theAnti ground shooting device. When this is turned on the camcorder will automaticly stop shooting ...
...your the type of person who forgets to pause the camcorder this little device is perfect for you The picture quality and sharpness is fantastic and very clear and crisp with fully vibrant colours you ll be very pleased with the end result of your recording. There is also a massive 32X zoom on the camera which is again excellent for the price your paying. At this range it can be a little shakey with your hands its best to put it on a tripod at these ... By far the best 'normal' priced camcorder around
Review of Panasonic NV GS400 by ruggero

Advantages: Awesome video quality; superb camera for amateur moviemakers.
Disadvantages: Charger design 'flaw'; below-par stills; no pro audio sockets.

...I was told by a Panasonic salesman. I, too, found no differences in the specifications and it was at least £100 cheaper than I could find the 'B' model for online and £550 lower than Panasonic's UK list price! Just the UK warranty is missing, but you can register online for a warranty anyway. The box includes UK, US and European power cables and an English manual, so everything really is there. I bought from eBuyer but it could now be cheaper elsewhere. ...
...outdoors in good light and is helped by the top quality Leica lens. Each CCD is larger than the single one in most consumer cameras! Colours look fantastic and detail is excellent. Even in low indoor light, the large lens and CCDs help it perform very well. Budget moviemakers should look no further. For a film-like look, the true 16:9 widescreen mode is essential and really does widen the angle of view over the standard 4:3 ratio. No dodgy cropping ... Read review
