The greatest value for money camcorder
Advantages: Looks, price, features, ease of use and zoom. Disadvantages: Picture quality
...job well and easily. The samsung f30 records nicely and also records great sounds. Another good feature is that the camcorder is very small and therefore very portable. I could take this anywhere with out it giving me trouble. The zoom is also fantastic along with its features including a time-lapse mode which is a lot of fun. Also it comes with a cable that lets you hook it up to the tv to view your footage which is very neat. All these features ... ...but the looks of this camera sums everthing up and makes you fall in love with it. I own the red version and it looks stunning. Whenever i am out there recording, it always attracts alot of attention due to its flashy colour and style. There is only one bad point and that is the picture quality. It is so bad that even if you do not zoom in, the image is still very pixalated and blury. But still, i wouldnt argue for the price becasue to me this is ...

Samsung an average camcorder
Advantages: Compact, convienient and fantastic picture quality Disadvantages: Unreliable and poor customer service.
...nice and as with all Samsung products it seems to list a heap of fancy features that are on the leading edge of technology. Reliability: I have had this camcorder for almost 6 months and am sorry to say that it has just been sent for repair for the second time due to a manufacturing fault (The LCD screen died). So I am going to say not very reliable at all but this is to be expected with leading edge technology I guess. Ease of use: At first not ... ...Picture Quality: This camera's one redeeming feature - the picture quality is 15/10 absolutely stunning. Battery Life: is on par with the industry standard ( I think I got 300 minutes out of it before it needed recharged. Summary: I expect better from a manufacturer like Samsung ...

Samsung VP D381 - Simple On The Surface
Advantages: Good for everyday use, simple & small. Disadvantages: Tapes only, needs firewire.
...I started to wonder why Samsung had made it so difficult to transfer your video, unless it was to persuade you to go for the memory card models with USB transfer instead. I decided to worry about it at another time, and set it aside. But then, I decided to get a MacBook, and what should be found sitting along the side, but a firewire port. I should say that on the latest MacBook generation the port has been removed, mine is the white one. So I plugged ... ...lets me transfer everything on the tape, whilst separating it into the separate recordings, with the click of a button. So basically, Apple solves yet another problem, and I can now edit those videos of my family eating Xmas dinner and my dogs malling each other, yay! I would say that this is the number one problem with this camera. You really must have a Firewire port and cable handy, unless there is some easier way that I'm naive to (but I have ...

EASY AS PIE
Advantages: Light, easy to use, some very good funtions Disadvantages: The DV tapes are just a little bit on the expensive side (but its worth it)
This camera is great, its light, easy to use, stylish, modern and packed with clever technology. You certainly get a lot for your money. At under two hundred pounds it is perfect for amateur camera people, and all those moments you just have to catch on film.
I got one of these last christmas, with five DV tapes and a case! I had a quick read of the instruction manual and I was soon going through the camera settings working out what does what. A ... ...finishing touches to the Christmas Dinner. I filmed other bits and bobs of Christmas Day and by the end of the day, I had used up one of my five tapes. On boxing day I filmed some more, and I kept filming through out the period of time between Christmas and new year.
On new years eve, I got the camera rolling again, and I was filming all the festivities, and using the many different functions that were available on the camera, I also took advantage ...

Samsung VPD371W
Advantages: compact, easy to use Disadvantages: no firewire cable, no tape supplied with camcorder
...tiny budget I chose the samsung as it seemed great for the money. So far the camcorder has been brilliant , easy to use, easy to transfer to tv, small, caompact and smart looking. The only real problem has been that it chewed a tape and we had to break the tape to get it out so we were upset about that. It would also be good if it came with the firewire lead as to a newcomer to camcorders the added hasle of buying one is a pain .
However, overall ...
