...dont waste money on this sony product and OH!!!!!! the service at sonycentre in leeds is the worst they will fight as if you killed their camera by approaching them the worst part is about to come when the technical details are disclosed the camera has .2 and .5 mp of resolution and it does not have features to tune your image it does not shoot in dark andin low light the picture quality is of webcam dont buy this camcorder unless you are buying ...

...you an idea - our Sony Vaio Pentium D 2.8GHz with 2Gb RAM and 1Gb Nvidia graphics card 'just about' manages to play back the hi-def files acceptably. There are no obvious glitches. But I cannot help feeling that a faster PC would be better. Whereas anything slower would just not cut the mustard. Although TG3E comes with software for browsing, importing and playing back files from the camcorder, for editing you will need something else, described ... ...Nero 9, PowerDVD 8, or Sony DVD Architect 5;
i) a Blu-Ray player for your TV. Panasonic's DMP-BD35 is a good bet;
j) editing software that can handle AVCHD files. The cut-down forty quid version of Sony Vegas does this well - as do a few other apps, including the reasonably-priced Movie Plus X3 from Serif. We just use Vegas Lite because we know it;
k) an external hard drive for storing all your clips. Firewire or SATA drives are best.

Fast and simple to use
Advantages: Fast on, decent video quality, incredibly easy to use. Disadvantages: slow auto focus, photo quality is dreadful, no external mic jack.
...PC, however, I do believe Sony provide software in the box for playback and editing, but it is on Windows only. For the Mac users, download and install VLC player (google it), and that program will play the movie files back. To get to the movies, connect the camera to your computer using the provided USB. Double click on the camera's disk icon and go to MPROOT, and double click on the folder inside that. PHOTO QUALITY The camera supports ... ...from a video camera, is very, very poor quality. This will not replace you standard compact camera, and certainly not an SLR, but is fine for a quick capture here and there if carrying a photo camera as well is too much. CONCLUSION This is such a quick and slick camera, it will want you to take more videos with it. Yes, the auto focus is slow, but ti does get it right... eventually. I think if you are primarily shooting in well lite situations ...

Advantages: cheap, great quality , nightvision , lightweight Disadvantages: no firewire or usb included , but you can buy these cheap
Sony DCR HC51E is a very easy to use camcorder. brilliant quality recording.
