I hardly EVER charge my camera after purchasing the Nikon MB-D80

Advantages: holds charge for a really long time, light weight, very sturdy

TC80 - very expensive. Alternatives save you up to £90

Advantages: Canon - None unless you are a badge snob. Alternative - 1/3rd the price, does exactly the same.
Disadvantages: Canon - Expensive! Alternative - none really, plastic could be better but you've just saved £90
