This is the mail order company I bought my Nikon anti-fog eyepiece from. They said they had a shop, in Brighton, so I got on the train one Saturday morning, and found the shop about 20 minutes walk from the main station. This shop is small! There is plenty of equipment on display in the window, with prices to suit all pockets. WOW! I have never seen so many Nikon bits all in one place before. A good selection of secondhand cameras, lenses, flashes, and so on. Plus they had absolutely piles of new accessories. I picked up a Nikon 77mm UV filter, and hood, for my recently acquired 80-200mm F2.8. What's more, the guy behind the counter was knowledgeable, and friendly. They even have a chair at the counter for the customer. It seems that this kind of shop is rapidly going out of fashion, with the multiple retailers buying every business they see. As a comparison, I walked to the nearest Jessops, just 15 minutes walk away. This is a much bigger shop, lots of fancy displays, computers, and so on. What turned me off, was that they were very pushy. I asked about a card reader for my PC. The guy only wanted to talk about one model. I felt a bit harassed, made my excuses, and left. Overall, Camera Direct ARE very specialised, but I felt very comfortable, and would happily use them again.
