A brilliant general purpose lense with a good zoom range

Advantages: Reduces hassle of changing lenses, good zoom range, impressive results
Disadvantages: Has an issue with AF, not quite as sharp, fast and detailed as seperate lenses.

Advantages: indoor shooting where there is an inadequate amount of lighting due to the very bright aperture.
