Sigma 18-250 mm Lens - A Zoom With A View

Advantages: Compact for such a powerful lens. Good build quality. Probably the only size of lens I'll need.
Disadvantages: All zooms are something of a quality compromise.

Tamron 70-300mm telephoto lens

Advantages: good value, get what you expect, decent macro mode, large focal range for the price
Disadvantages: less than brilliant focusing: a bit noisy and slow, manual focus ring is a bit smooth
