The Canon 10-20mm EF-S lens, perfect for landscapes.
Advantages: Excellent quality pictures, Useful wide angle range. Good build quality. Disadvantages: No lens hood, Not compatible with all EOS cameras
Introduction
The Canon EF-S 10-22mm f3.5-f4.5 USM lens is a high quality wide-angle zoom lens that is ideal for landscape, architectural and interior photography.
It is designed to be used with all Canon EOS cameras with an APS-C sized censor and an EF-S lens mount, it cannot be used with Canon full frame or film cameras, also some older EOS models will not accept this lens either.
To see if your camera is compatible with this lens, check ... ...lot with this, but the Canon lens has very little chromatic aberration at all, and it is not noticeable on most pictures, even where it is present it is very minor and you would have to enlarge the picture quite a lot to even see it, which is quite impressive.
Lens Flare
Lens flare happens when the sun strikes the front element of a lens and causes reflections inside the lens, The elements in this lens have a "super spectra coating" which ...

Ef 50 1.8 II
Advantages: Cheap, great image quality, fast (aperture) Disadvantages: Bad focus motor. Noisy and slow (focus). Plastic build
This lens is the first prime I ever bought. I was looking at primes because they produce better quality images and are faster than zooms, though less practical. I saw that 130$ lens (brand new!) ... I gave it a shot, saying to myself: -well I'll try this out and if I don't like primes or if this turns out to be a bad lens, i'll loose only 130$. I also believed at the time that 130$ brand new lenses cannot produce quality images. Nikon doesn't have ... ...of my favourite. It doesn't produce image as nice as my 85mm (also reviewed here on ciao), but for the price, it is unbeatable. Apart from beeing extremely fast (compared to zooms anyway), it is SHARP (well it's a prime...) and I also noticed better contrast (at least a more pleasing effect to my eye) in my image (compared to my 17-40L). You can't go wrong with this lens. Even if you have 50mm covered with one or more of your zooms, you have to buy ...

All purpose objective for Canon DSLR
Advantages: very fast AF mechanism, quiet operation, image stabilization Disadvantages: feels a bit plastic, low-light performance not so good
When I bought my Canon EOS 20D, I was thinking about getting a cheaper Sigma or Tamron objective to go with it. But since the optical performance of those 3rd party can't keep up with the Canon ones most of the time, because of the reverse-engineered Auto-Focus interface, I went for the safer option and got myself the 17-85 IS USM instead.
The objective is huge and heavy, which in conjunction with the EOS 20D really makes it a weight training exercise. ... ...Yashica 50mm/1.4 much more. The Canon objective can feel a bit plastic and cheap, although not as cheap as the standard 18-55mm one. If you have the money, go for the 17-40L lense, which also has an ultra sonic motor (USM), but an aperture of F4 throughout the whole spectrum, as well as being a bit smaller and better built (I think it is one of the standard lenses recommended for the 5D).
I would recommend this lense for the entry-level photographer, ...

Nearly one 'L' of a lens
Advantages: Useful range. Fast f/2.8 aperture. Great IS. Superb image quality. Disadvantages: Lens hood costs extra!
Having owned and used a Canon EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 IS USM zoom lens for around 15 months, I feel that I have some well balanced experience with it.
Being an EF-S lens (the 'S' standing for 'Short' back-focus), it is designed for use ONLY with cameras having APS-C size sensors. Do not attempt to use one on a full-frame DSLR or 35mm SLR camera. Firstly, such lenses have a reduced image circle which will produce severe vignetting on large sensor cameras ... ...serious damage.
On a Canon APS-C size DSLR, this 3.2x zoom provides a useful range of focal lengths from 27.2mm to 88mm with a maximum aperture of f/2.8 which is consistent throughout the zoom range. This fast aperture makes the lens eminently suitable for low-light work, particularly as it also boasts a 3-f/stop IS (Image Stabiliser), making it possible to attain pin sharp images at surprisingly slow shutter speeds, providing of course, the subject ...

Canon close up lens BRIlLIANT!
Advantages: Easy to fit and compatible! Disadvantages: Some images came out too soft
...photoshop but anyway, for the price, it's a great lens for close up plant and garden photography! Or i imagine it would be good for anything close-up. It's easy to use and attach to the camera. I have a canon eos400D and it fitted fine and worked like a dream! ...
