The Canon 55-250mm IS is what Sherlock Holmes would use!

Advantages: nice zoom, sharp focus, premium feel

My most popular choice of lens!

Advantages: lightweight and compact, good quality images - clear and sharp, versatile
Disadvantages: images have less depth than those taken with a prime lens

The Canon EF-S 15-55mm: A kit lens that will not disappoint!

Advantages: well above average image quality, cheap, image-stabilisation
Disadvantages: all-plastic build, some (but very little) chromatic aberration and barrel distortion

Capturing Life Thru A Lens!

Advantages: good quality results, good to experiment with
Disadvantages: bulky and heavy, not as versatile as other lenses
