STRONGARM TACTICS
Review of Cameron's Strongarm by proxam

Advantages: Easy drinking
Disadvantages: Not very interesting

When we were down in North Yorks recently, I had a fine old time sampling some of the local brews.I brought home a few bottles of various different beers, but I managed to squeeze the odd sojourn to the pub in as well and partake of some wonderful ales. One of these beers was not exactly local in the Yorkshire sense, but it hailed from a town which is close enough to make no difference. CAMERONS have been brewing beer at The Lion Brewery in Hartlepool ...
...Castle Eden Brewery and a new company formed. They produce cask, keg and bottled ales and lagers, some of which are: Nimmos XXXX, Castle Eden Ale and the seasonal Knights range. There most famous ale though, is STRONGARM. It's brewed with challenge, fuggles, target and goldings hops, and with roasted crystal malt. THEY SAY: "Well rounded, ruby red ale with a distinctive tight creamy head. Good balance of malt, hops and bitterness." Abridged from: ... Read review

THE STRONGARM OF THE LAW.
Review of Cameron's Strongarm by tange

Advantages: Tasty, cheaper than some other bitters. A good standard "session bitter"!
Disadvantages: Not available everywhere.

We are back in Whitby now for my next beer review. This one is about a rather nice beer we found in one or two pubs around where we were staying. It had been recommended to us by the two friends we were travelling with ~ they go to Whitby quite often because of family connections. They said that if we saw it for sale, we really HAD to try some. We saw some, so we tried it…the beer in question is Strongarm Bitter! Strongarm is brewed by Camerons ...
...Group. Camerons began brewing in Hartlepool way back in 1872 and had many years of bad luck ~ passing from owner to owner and falling into disrepair. This situation began to improve when Wolverhampton and Dudley bought the brewery, its pubs and their brand names in 1992. Since the re-launch onto the Beer drinking market they have become more and more popular and have become an established and respected producer of good quality ales. They now supply ... Read review

Camerons Strongarm - a jewel of a beer.
Review of Cameron's Strongarm by Woolyback

Advantages: Full flavoured and reasonably priced.
Disadvantages: No longer available in cans.

Camerons Strongarm is brewed at the Lion Brewery in Hartlepool, County Durham and the company has been there for over a hundred years although their origins date back to the 16th century. In 1992 the brewery was taken over by Wolverhampton & Dudley however recently there has been speculation about a change of ownership. Camerons Strongarm is widely available, on draught, throughout the North East of England though sadly no longer available in cans. ...
...and this is a great shame because the beer lost little in the canning process. Camerons Strongarm is 4.0% proof and is referred to as Ruby Red bitter, this name appearing on the pumps in the pubs in which it is sold. Priced at about £1.70 it is not expensive in comparison to other beers on the market. Strongarm has a unique taste and is full of flavour with a creamy head and a distinctive dark red hue, hence the name Ruby Red. Some might say that ... Read review
