Advantages: architectural wonder Disadvantages: cost many human lives to build
and technically amazing for the 17th century.
The problem they had, when digging the Canal, was that when they arrived at Béziers, they were confronted with a 25 meter drop to continue the Canal to Marseillan, near Sète, where the Canal comes out in the "étang de Thau", which leads to the Mediterranean, and another famous Canal, the Canal du Rhone, which leads, very obviously, to the Rhone.

The "écluses de Fonserannes" (locks of Fonseranne) were also conceived by Mr. Pierre Paul Riquet, in his natal town (coincidence or calculated project?) in 1697. They are spectacular in that there are 9 consecutive lock gates to reach the bottom of the 25 meter drop! Their total length is of 315 meters, and the 8 oval locks can hold only 2 large barges at a time. That said, it actually takes a good hour to get a boat up or down this ...
Advantages: An amazing sight Disadvantages: Venice is SO expensive
When visiting Venice, it's hard, if not impossible, to not come into contact with the Canalasso. Well when I say come into contact, most people don't actually do that - they'd end up a trifle wet if they did. More accurately, it's nigh impossible to not see, or travel upon the said waterway.

It snakes through the city in a giant back-to-front S shape from here to the St Mark Basin at the opposite end of town. At 3800m long and varying widths of between 30-90m, it's said to be one of the few man-made structure visible from space...although I'm not sure it was so much man-made as 'enhanced', and I ...

Toni & Guy
I have visited a few of Toni & Guy salons, so I now feel that I can write this review.
In 1963 Toni & Guy first salon opened in Clapham London. From there on in, there was no stopping them, nearly every big town has one. If I am correct they also have or are expanding abroad.
If you have visited 1 or more Toni & Guy salon?s you will notice that they are all the same, from the chairs to the sinks, the walls to the floor. Each salon is identical, being the inside.
They have a uniform of Black and White. Black bottoms with a White top, they do have their own logo t-shirts in which some staff do wear.
The salons I have visited ?
Chichester in West Sussex, owned by a man called Jeff.
Basildon in Essex, owned by a man called Billy. This opened in August 1999. Billy is sponsoring Miss Essex at the moment ...
