Having had a new kitchen fitted a few months back now we had a Candy FPP407 stainless steel electric oven built into the design. We paid just under £300 for it and this oven is a very simple and easy to use electric oven. Our kitchen fitter was happy for us to buy it from Comet ourselves (with free delivery) and he fitted it. The oven has come with a one year manufacturers guarantee and Comet were offering additional cover on top of this to extend cover to either 3 or 5 years. We declined these offers as we very rarely take this sort of thing out, but it could be useful to others for peace of mind.
The Candy FPP407 is finished nicely in stainless steel which fits in well with my units and other kitchen electricals. The oven is a simple fan assisted single unit with variable grill. On the front of the oven above the door are two knobs and an LED electronic display to allow you to programme it. The oven comes with an integral fan cooling system and overall covers most of my cooking needs within this one simple unit.
The LED display allows me to set a timer on my cooking and the oven is enamel lined. I have never had any problems shifting dirty from the oven and I always keep it clean to prevent any build up of grease and grime. Although I can imagine all ovens should have them, the FPP407 also has an internal light. The obvious advantages of having an internal light are that you can see how your food is cooking without the need to open the oven door and also to assist in safe removal of cooked food.
The oven has two shelves and there is a good deal of space in it for cooking numerous dishes at the same time. The viewing window is also of a reasonable size, allowing me to keep an eye on food whilst it cooks. Although this is a single oven and doesn't have a seperate grill function, the package comes with a grill pan. It isn't ideal but it is a compromise if space is at a premium for you. To grill food you can use the grill pan with the oven door open, as i said this isn't ideal and if you use the grill regularly I wouldn't recommend this particular oven.
Overall I think if you have limited space in your kitchen and therefore can't or don't want a grill then the Candy FPP407 electric oven is a great option. Carrying an A Energy Efficiency Rating I have nothing but praise for the FPP407. The only issue that I can find is that if you aren't very technically minded then you may struggle with programming the oven to carry out some tasks. The display isn't the largest, but it is one of those things you will get used to and I wouldn't say it is particularly complicated. At around £300 it also isn't the cheapest unit around, but with a brand like Candy you always have the reassurance that the oven is built to last.
