cannon cooker-perfect for small spaces,attractive

Advantages: attractive, compact size
Disadvantages: low quality hobs, handle to bread tray fixed on.

This was gifted to me from my dad when i moved in to my new place. its a nice attractive looking cooker in black and silver.its a gr8 compact size making it ideal for flats, small kitchens. its handy having the grill on its own which just pulls open, it comes with a chrome shelf. the oven is a good size for a small family. it has 2 shelves and when switched on the lights go on too so u can see whats hapnin inside. the bread tray has one problem i cant take off the handle its screwed on-how am i suppose to toast those breds. when the handle pokes out and the door doesnt close. it has a timer function which i dont bother using. the gas hobs are not of gr8 quality, my mum has similar cheap looking hobs which are a nightmare to clean. they have to be soaked in a cleaner to get rid of stains. i like the fact its gt a splashback which is ...

Yewdale Hotel , Coniston : Food and drinks review.

Advantages: Could not be better positioned at the heart of Coniston.
Disadvantages: Service was slow but friendly.

We recently spent a few glorious days walking in the Lake District and had forgotten just how beautiful it is there. Based in Coniston and renting one of the Coppermines cottages we had plenty to do during our short stay including walking up the Old Man of Coniston - thats a mountain by the way! - We also spent one day walking from Lake Coniston up into the hills to Tarn Hows which is a simply lovely mountain lake surrounded by hills and woodland. On the way back it started to rain just as we got into Coniston and so we ducked into the Yewdale Hotel and decided to have a couple of drinks and dinner while we waited out the rain. This review is therefore for the restaurant only. The hotel is a Victorian stone and slate building right at the centre of Coniston in a prominent position near the bridge and over the road from ...

Review of Yewdale Hotel, Coniston

Good, dependable, no thrills cooker

Advantages: no thrills, does the job, easy to use, clean, good instruction book
Disadvantages: handle on grill tray

Ok ok, so perhaps Beko is a name that doesn't trip off the tongue when talking about replacement cookers. However, I've had my cute little electric 212 for over a year now and have to say that I'm completely satisfied with it. Its of a very basic hob design with twin cavities (grill & Oven) with the usual four hot plates offering power outputs of between 1kw & 2kw, while the reasonably sized oven has a maximum power of 2100 watts. Its relatively light at 57kg, so its easy to slide between kitchen units for cleaning etc. It can come in a number of colours from typical white, to green or blue. I chose to be conservative and went for white. The control panel isn't particular sophisticated with knobs set for the hotplates, oven, grill along with a couple of indicator/thermostat lights and nothing more. There's a couple ...
