I've had my Cannon Oxford cooker, for about 4 years now, and accept for one minor mishap, which was my fault, 'I broke the door handle'. It's as good today as the first day I brought it, and in fact still looks just as new, 'Honest'
By the way after breaking the door handle, I was able to replace it the following day from our local dealer, at very little expense.

It's a very basic gas cooker, no fancy gadgets, split level, freestanding cookers, which fits in nicely with the standard kitchen worktop height. A glass top lid, with fancy white inlaid pattern,
4 ring burners adorn the cooker top, one large and one small, front and back, three basic heat settings, high, medium and simmer,

There is a minute minder dial on the front of the cooker 1-60 mins, this where you will find all the cookers controls, including oven, and ignition switch.

Ignition is electronic spark from small electrodes, caused by pressing in ignition switch; the power source is from a large replaceable battery at the rear of the cooker, p.s not had to change ours yet.

Below is the grill and grill pan area, very large grilling area, perfect for toast, bacon, chops etc: as it gives of, instant heat which is evenly spread, through the grills special upper panel.

Lower part of the cooker is a Glass fronted, convection oven, specifically made to give a good all round temperature, and in fact does this very well, large oven, takes the family Christmas Turkey with ease, and still room for your roast potatoes and stuffing.

A good all-round temperature for cakes etc: as well, eliminates having to keep opening the door to check them, and losing heat, Yorkshire puddings come out a real treat.

The oven has a self-cleaning system built in, I haven't a clue how it works, but it does, very little maintenance and cleaning are needed.

All parts on the top of the cooker are simply removed, for cleaning and degreasing,
I have had a lot more expensive cookers in the past; with all the fancy gadgetry and none of them has cooked or lasted half has good or long as this little beauty.

I can't recommend it enough, I paid £160.00 for it 4 years ago, but I'm unable to quote you today's price, brought it from Curry's.

A good review but Im confused - I thought convection always meant electricity? So if its fueled by gas, does this mean that the ovens are too? The way you describe it with a glass top and frontal certainly doesnt seem basic to me! I remember basic as in the grill pan at the top!
