This freestanding dual fuel cooker has a stainless steel finish, a gas hotplate and two electric ovens, the smaller of which is also a grill.

It has a toughened glass hotplate lid which acts as a safety device and cuts off the gas supply to the hotplate burners unless it's fully open.

I had my cooker delivered on 16th February 2006.

Included with my cooker were three oven shelves, a roasting pan, a grill pan with rack and 'splatter' guard, a small instruction booklet and warranty registration papers.

It is three months since this cooker was installed in my kitchen and it has been well used, probably tested to within an inch of its life.

As Ciao don't have a picture at the top of the review I'll put one at the end of my review to enable you to see the cooker I use to conjure up culinary delights (nice nosh)!!

The cooker has two electric ovens, the main fan oven and a smaller conventional oven which also doubles as the high speed grill. Both ovens are illuminated and the plain glass doors in both make checking on cooking food easy.
There's absolutely no need to open the doors to check on cooking food when it's so easily viewed.
Both ovens have heat cleaning liners which makes keeping them clean a cinch - the hotter the oven setting the cleaner the oven walls become. Unfortunately manual cleaning of the glass doors and metal oven shelves is still necessary but it is relatively easy if done regularly. In fact the inner glass on the doors is removable for easier cleaning of tough stains.
The three oven shelves which are supplied with the cooker (one in the top and two in the main oven) are interchangeable and allow quite a bit of flexibility when using either oven.
As I do quite a bit of baking and roasting I have put extra shelves in to give me more cooking space.
I've found that cakes and biscuits cook perfectly well in both ovens and brown evenly. As yet, I've not baked a large fruit cake, so I can't comment on this.

There's a clock and a minute minder, also a fully programmable timer for the main oven.
There are thermostat lights for both ovens which will go out when the correct temperature has been achieved.
There's also a 'slow cook' facility with the main oven - I've used this once with a Jamie Oliver lamb recipe and found it to be as good as it claims.

The high speed electric grill can only be used if the top oven is switched off.
It is really quick to heat up and I find it is heated and ready to use in about a minute.
It has the facility of being able to heat half of the width of the grill or the full space. I use the 'half' grill fairly regularly and it's just as effective as using the whole.
There's a 'splatter guard' which prevents meat juices and fat from sparking and igniting.
The shelf in the grill/oven can be moved to allow food to be closer/further away from the heat source.

According to the instruction booklet the hotplate has four gas burners, two high speed and two simmering. I personally can't find much difference between them except the sizes. Two burners are 3" in diameter and two are 4" in diameter.
There are two cast iron pan supports which cover all four burners.
Cannon advise that pans with diameters between 4" and 9" should be used on the hotplate and that pans should be sited centrally over the burners.
I have used a Paella pan with an 11" diameter on the hotplate several times and not encountered any problems.
Each burner has a spark ignitor for lighting the gas.

I've found that cleaning the cooker is fairly easy and straightforward.
After allowing the cooker to cool, I find that hot soapy water and a cloth with a good dose of elbow grease works well on all the surfaces.
The only addition to this is that for the stainless steel and glass parts I buff them up to a nice sheen with a dry tea towel.

I paid £549.00 for this cooker in February - this included delivery and an extra year of warranty.
An internet search shows that the price online at the moment varies between £505.00 and £713.65. This only includes one year warranty and doesn't always include delivery.
