My wife and I spent many hours shopping around for a 90cm range cooker - this one wasn't top of our list, but it was available & we decided that we would take the risk...
We only considered dual fuel - it does seem the best combination ot control (and these rings are VERY controlable) on the hob and cleanliness in the ovens. We found this model in a local showroom that dealt mostly with 'seconds'. However, we managed to find it online at the same price as the slightly damaged appliances. If you prefer a full electric or full gas cooker, these options are also available.
When looking at cookers in this class, you will notice a couple of differences in what is available. For example, there are 90cm cookers with eight(8) rings, compared to the six(6) on the Cannon. Sounds good, but you will struggle to fit average sized pans next to each other on an eight ring cooker, so the Cannon has my vote here. Next thing to look out for is the number of ovens - the Cannon has two full ovens(one fan assisted) which can be very useful. There are several cookers in this class with one 'large' oven - which takes much longer to warm up!
Such a large cooker does require a dedicate ring main connection - look into this before buying as it would be a large expense if your supply isn't rated correctly.
Overall finish of the Cannon is quite good. It has a brushed s/s finish, which is reasonably easy to keep clean. The sides are black (would have preferred the s/s finish all over). The control knobs are a bit too chunky - but seem resilient. The accessories (griddle and Wok stand) are good to have, but the non-stick coating on my griddle hasn't lasted long before flaking off. The Wok stand works fantastically on the specialised double ring Wok burner. I use theWok a lot and this is my favourite feature.
Looking at the picture of the cooker - the doors are: Grill: top left Fan assisted oven: bottom left Unassisted oven: top right Plate warmer: bottom right
On the control panel there is a small electroniccontrol unit using a large green LED display. This provides the usual capability to turn on/off, a clock plus a usefull 'minute minder' which allows you to quickly enter a time (in minutes) after which the alarm will sound. The minute minder is a very useful feature - I really didn't expect to use it as much as I do! The buttons for the control unit lack a good quality feel. Although we have had no problems yet, they do look like they would easily snap off.
One other thing worth a mention is that the grill is separate from the oven. Many cookers use the same cavity for both - restricting you to being able to use one at once. The grill also has the ability to heat up on one side only - a good enery saving feature.
