Canon Powershot SX200 IS

Advantages: Lots of zoom, lots of pixels, sturdy
Disadvantages: No internal memory, flash pops up whether you want it to or not

I bought this camera recently as I purchased a Canon EOS1000D DSLR and I wanted a compact digital with a large zoom for the times when I didn't feel like lugging the DSLR and all it's accessories around with me. I'd looked around at other models, and I know that there are many other cameras that offer a much higher zoom, but I finally settled on this one for a number of reasons. a) 12 million pixels. This is more than I'll probably ever need as it's very rare that I print anything above 8x10 but it was an upgrade on my previous digital compact. b) 12x optical zoom. This is more than adequate for general photography, any more and I think you do probably need a tripod. c) NB-5L Li-Ion Battery. Canon Digital IXUS 80 IS

Advantages: Unusual colour, gorgeous looks, great functionality, good quality video and pictures
Disadvantages: Does not come with a case

I have bought Canon cameras before and this camera is by far the best I've owned. I absolutely love the simplicity of these cameras. Very easy to use and very straightforward. The video is of a very high standard as are the pictures. I have the camera in chocolate and it is very eyecatching and different from what is out there currently. The camera has a sexy contemporary look and feel about it. I'd say this range is definitely geared more for the ladies. Comes in three other colours - caramel, pink and silver. People are always commenting on it! Looks and feels a lot more expensive than what it is. Ensure a case is purchased as there isn't one in the box! Would definitely recommend this product. ...
