~ 'Yellow Pages' ~ My Experience ~

One of the ink cartridges used in my Canon Pixma printer is yellow. In my opinion, Canon has earned respect for their products. For me, their printer ink cartridges are no different in being serious contenders for quality and design. I tend to purchase the same brand in supplies as the equipment I buy so as not to have the warranty become invalid should a fault appear.

This yellow ink cartridge is smudge resistant. As in the case of the Canon black ink cartridge, the pigmented particles of the cartridge's ink settle into the fibres of the paper and adhere as the ink dries. This helps my printing to be more resistant to fading and therefore last well. The effect of the scientific process in combining certain components for the ink gives a rich fluid finish.

I use coloured inks in my chemistry coursework to represent molecules, atoms etc., Recently, I designed a sulfur dioxide representation using the yellow for the sulfur and the red for the oxygen. The finished diagram was printed bright, clear and smudge free. I have incorporated the ink to design a weekly schedule that has produced a sharp contrast against other colours for the chart. Additionally, I have devised children's party invitations using the cheerful rich yellow as a background on the notes. I generally use the yellow for any details I wish to stand out because it affords a pure and crystal clear effect to the printed material.

I have found that printing in general, the 26ml ink cartridge provides me with approximately 450 pages if set at a 5% coverage; although for chemistry coursework, I use a greater percentage as the structures need to be exceptionally vibrant.

The manufacturers leaflet enclosed with the product confirms that the Canon cartridge is compatible with twenty-four other Canon Pixma printers.

~ 'Sunset Yellow' ~ Loading Replacements ~

The following method is as I noted in my PGI 5BK black ink cartridge review; 'The product is very simple to load into the printer. The instructions are on the leaflet. This is how I replace a used cartridge: I lift up the cover on my printer. The ink cartridge carriage slides easily out from the printer's ink compartment. I gently remove the empty ink cartridge clasping the sides and carefully pulling upwards. Then, with the replacement cartridge to hand, I Remove the small sealing tape on the ink head before carefully installing the cartridge in exactly the same angle as the original empty one I took out. By pressing down until I hear a click sound that indicates the cartridge is now securely in place. I simply Close the cover of my printer, and proceed to print a test page just to ensure that I have installed the cartridge correctly'.
