Scanning prints or pphotographs is ok. Speed is generally good. The PDF support is good.
It will scan Slides using Silversoft but only one at a time and you can't use FARE. Which is the dust removal technology and is essential if you want good scans. The Canon driver does the bulk scanning and basically crashes every time at the end of a scan. I can't belive they let it out of the factory! Even the latest one.
So bulk scanning is out of the question. The scanned output from slides compares very poorly to a dedicated scanner.
If you need a scanner for Prints you can get a cheaper one else where. For slides don't bother.
Btw I sepnt a month trying to get Canon Support to fix it. They don' t respond to emails and phone is exasperating. If you buy Canon and you have any problems you're on your own.
I have brough Canon products in the past and had no issues.

Sorry about the low rating, but your review needs more detail (technical specs, speeds etc). Please let me know if you edit your review, I'll happily re-rate.
Advantages: Nice and fast for reflective scanning, good result from film at larger sizes. Disadvantages: Not good enough for large prints of scanned 35mm film.
