With its unrivaled clarity, outstanding resolution and capacity to scan an entire film roll in a single operation, the CanoScan 9950F represents a new standard in professional,...more...high-speed, ultimate quality scanning. As a demanding professional with a need to scan more than just a few negatives or transparencies, you will delight in the power and quality of the CanoScan 9950F. Every element of this super-resolution flatbed scanner works in harmony to deliver the two things demanded of a professional scanner: superb image quality and unrivaled productivity. When it comes to image quality, the CanoScan 9950F is without peer. 4800 x 9600dpi resolution will capture the finest details, while 48 bit color depth ensures exceptionally accurate color reproduction. Resolution is only half the story, however. The spherical lenses of conventional scanners introduce aberrations that cause a softening of the image towards the edges. The CanoScan 9950F aspherical Super Toric lens eliminates these aberrations to increase sharpness, contrast and color stability, as well as transmitting more light for faster scanning. With its large film adaptor unit (FAU), the CanoScan 9950F is capable of scanning 30 x 35mm negatives in a single operation. It can also take up to 12 mounted slides, 120 roll or 4x5" transparencies. The CanoScan 9950F has both USB 2.0 Hi-Speed and IEEE1394 (FireWire) connections for blistering data transfer speeds for PC and Mac platforms. Using infrared scanning detection, FARE Level 3 technology automatically restores scratched, damaged or faded film to its former glory, saving hours of manual retouching. It also corrects heavily backlit film, balancing images by diminishing the brightness only of those areas that are over-exposed. QARE Level 3 performs the same functions for photo prints. The CanoScan 9950F is equipped with four large, easy-to-use scan buttons. Customize these to perform the functions you use most: copying, scanning, filing, sending to your e-mail program or scanning straight to PDF (Portable Document Format). Yet another time saving feature, fast Multi-photo mode creates up to ten separate files from a single scan of multiple photos spread out over the glass. Scans of any skewed images straighten automatically.
