Advantages: Nice resolution, quick and easy to use, professional quality scanner Disadvantages: Non so far
...I own a small printers and my back-ground is in Graphic Design so when I look for a scanner I look for one that is easy to use but can supply quality high resolution images that can be used for a professional looking finished product and the CanonCanoScan 8600F never fails to deliver the results I am after.
Some may say that the price at around £120 to £150 is maybe a little on the high side but with 4800 x 9600dpi, USB2 connectivity for high speed scans and a nice little mode that allows you to scan multiple images as seperate files with a single pass of the scanner you certainly get what you pay for.
If you are looking for a quality scanner for ease of use but professional results then the CanoScan 8600F is for you....

Advantages: Good software, small, slim Disadvantages: None
...The first things that you notice about the CanonFB630Ui scanner are the striking blue colour of the lid, and the diminutive size. Set up is pretty straightforward provided you know how to install software - the manual is not as helpful as it should be. The scanner itself takes power via the USB port so there's less leads to trail. Scanning a document is reasonably quick, and the one touch button to launch the relevant software is very useful. Supplied software is pretty comprehensive also. For a simple, inexpensive scanner, the CanonFB630Ui is hard to beat....
