I purchased the LiDE 25 after reading excellent reports on other sites and in Computer Mags.
(My previous scanner was an Agfa Snap-scan but it was not compatible with XP. This Canon scanner is so simple compared with the Agfa model)
The scanner installed on my Windows XP Pro pc without a hitch and works perfectly.
It certainly makes an excellent scanner for the first-time buyer as it is so simple to use.
It comes with an very good software package, including Scan-gear and OmniPage OCR.
The comprehensive on-line guides will soon turn a novice/nervous user into a happy/confident user.
Quiet and smooth operation. The slim build means that it is easy to find a suitable place to keep it.
Also scans photographs with ease and excellent results.
Can be used on USB 1 or 2 - although it only operates at USB 1 speed; even so, it is not a slow scanner.
